Warchant TV: Fisher after Monday AM's practice

POST-PRACTICE REPORT

Jimbo didn't seem to be thrilled today. Not mad, but just not thrilled.

Said the goal for the next couple weeks is establishing toughness and discipline ... on that note, Trickett had the OL working extra after practice and ... well, it seemed like an attitude adjustment day. Lots of extra work with the sled, etc.

Looking back at the scrimmage, Jimbo didn't have much more to say. "Nothing in particular I loved. Nothing in particular I hated." .One thing he wanted to see more of was more toughness and better "pad levels" ... said guys were playing too high, which reduces leverage and power. On the QBs, said Evertt Golson and Sean Maguire both did a "nice job."

On Mario Pender, Fisher said he got banged on his knee the other day, causing a bruise, which is why they've been holding out. He should be good in the next day or so, and again Fisher said how well he's been playing.

Freshman OL Abdul Bello was carted off, but not sure what his injury is or if it was a heat thing.

On Lorenzo Phillips, Jimbo said he showed "some juice" in board drills and can run. Although he played mostly outside at junior college, he'll be an inside linebacker here.

At the CB spot opposite of Ramsey, Fisher said Marquez White seems to be playing pretty well, and Ryan Green has been "OK." One thing they want to see out of White is more aggressiveness.

On Tarvarus McFadden, he didn't do all the team stuff today. But they think he will this afternoon. Wanted to ease him back in after the hamstring pull.

We're interviewing Kermit Whitfield, Derrick Mitchell and probably Nate Andrews today. Will have more coverage coming soon.

DE Lorenzo Featherston was at practice on crutches after having his knee scope.

The team is practicing again this evening, but that is closed.

EARLY PRACTICE REPORT
FSU is practicing twice today, and we just got back from the early open portion of the first practice..

Spirits seemed to be pretty high. Having a light day Saturday and a day off Sunday had to help recharge the batteries a bit. Seemed to be a lot of energy in the early portion.

Fisher was paying special attention to the kick return team ... they worked on handling pooch kicks, and Fisher was very complimentary of Jalen Ramsey and Bobo Wilson for coming up and not letting the ball fall.

On the OL, it looked like Wilson Bell was back with the starters today, and Chad Mavety was back with the twos. Looked like (from left to right): Rod Johnson, Kareem Are, Corey Martinez, Wilson Bell and Derrick Kelly were the starters.

LB Lorenzo Phillips is in full pads now after getting cleared late ... and he is an impressive looking dude in pads. More good news on the eligibility front: TE Jalen Wilkerson is practicing in shells. His first day must have been Saturday.

CB Tarvarus McFadden was back at practice, so he should be over the hamstring. LB Sh'Mar Kilby-Lane is still in a blue non-contact jersey. Calvin Brewton is still out. RB Mario Pender is still being held out.

C Ryan Hoefeld appears to be close to getting back. Instead of rehabbing on the side, he was with the rest of the group. He went through warmups and was with the OL group in drills. Looks like he's still limited, but obviously making progress.

WR George Campbell is still not in pads but he did some of the pre-practice conditioning stuff with the rest of the team. LB Delvin Purifoy looks to be getting in better shape now that he's been full speed for a little while.

Elsewhere on the injury front: OL Cole Minshew, David Robbins and Ethan Frith are all still out.

Scouts from the Texans, Jaguars and Cowboys were at practice.

That's about it for now. Will have plenty more after we talk with Jimbo and players around 12.
