With all due respect @iraschoffel @CoreyClark and @Dot Com what will weekly or even 3 days a week testing accomplish? Rapid daily accurate testing is the only thing that will remove the risk of opting in. Accurate rapid test do not exist therefore what is the administration and coaching staff suppose to do? Playing is a choice for every player. Each player (adult) should weigh his risk and decide if he wants to play. If it is to risky to play in the individuals opinion opt out. Each player assumes the risk of exposure if they play just as if they go to Publix.

Rapid daily accurate testing is the only thing that will remove the risk of opting in.

Daily testing would not remove the risk of contracting COVID-19. Tests are only positive when the viral load is sufficient enough to test positive. You can be infected long before you actually have a positive test. Outside of living in a bubble there is nothing that 100% removes the risk. Not even a vaccine.

That is my point. Testing is bull$&@. The only thing that will keep us safe is living in isolation. If you choose to play football you increase your risk of getting infected.
You also risk getting a concussion, a torn ACL, broken back, and a litany of other serious health issues. At what point do we just ban football all together? It’s just too dangerous*

I honestly think part of this goes back to the Marvin situation in a way. Norvell said something that wasn't accurate, Marvin called him out and it turned out positive for the most part. All due to an inaccurate word used by the coach. Forward to this week. They have a round(square) table discussion and the admin stated that they were doing weekly testing. I don't think they specified "have been" or "will be" but someone made the interpretation that this was a lie. Then DJ tests positive (assuming from last weeks test) and the WR room is put into quarantine. Warren decides to call out the "lie" when it was just another misunderstanding or misinterpretation of what was said. Daily testing would not have prevented a player from contracting the virus, nothing will. Norvell is trying to be supportive of his players and their right to be heard but this team needs to understand the ramifications of putting their laundry out on social media. When they do, it's rarely positive and leads to exactly THIS...................

If we weren’t testing, we wouldn’t know DJ Matthews had it, wouldn’t be doing contact tracing, that would expose other players to it, it would spread through the team, and that would be horrible for multiple reasons that shouldn’t have to be explained.

I guess your point is don’t bother with living when life is only safe in isolation. Some point ....

No my point is living in the covid era comes with a risk. Each person can decide if they want to take that risk and how much they risk. Playing football with 100 people around is risky because of the potential exposure. These grown a&@ men had a choice to participate. Don’t bitch if you decide to take a risk and get infected.

Some of you must stoop quite low to have so much go over your head.

More testing equals more early detection equals fewer players infecting one another and more players on the field . If this is too much to understand then 2nd grade math might be your ceiling

The other point is players spread is not the only issue, community spread is a bigger problem.

Hear me out on this , its kinda like having unprotected sex while in college right. You choose to sleep with a lot of people you might get an infection . It may kill you and it may not , it may just get you sick and take a shot from the doc and on your way. It up to every individual to chose their RISK.

Thanks Einstein. Everyone should be tested every day to prevent the spread. Seems plausible....... Please share more wisdom with us second graders......

False. Rapid ANTIGEN testing is accurate. Don’t confuse that with rapid antibody testing.

Hard to have an intelligent debate with someone that insults others with the first two points they're trying to make. Especially in a post filled with so many typos, while calling out the intelligence of others. There's other ways to get a point across...

@tigity I would agree With you if we had Accurate Rapid testing. The reality is that we do not.
It is available they are in use is S Florida.. We just need to make it happen this is a multi million dollar industry. If we can not get even basic rapid testing in place we have no business playing football.

I think they were testing 1 per week. - voluntary work outs
I think they are moving to testing more than that .. twice or every 3 days or such

The only other thing they can do is daily .. which would be okay if the infection rate is high in a group or if some know otehr risk

Please enlighten us what the issue is. Further, Tigity for head coach, trainer and medical staff.

You also risk getting a concussion, a torn ACL, broken back, and a litany of other serious health issues. At what point do we just ban football all together? It’s just too dangerous*
I think One of the main goals is to shut football down, period.

There has been a group in our country trying to destroy pop warner football and the NFL for years. This virus just gives them another avenue to attack football.

Idk why they don’t run a rapid test on the same sample 3 times....someone in my family does heart surgeries and this is what they do for their patients....same swab but test it three times and go from there.

Ok, now I must ask after all these different And random concussion responses in different threads...what type of LSD is it? Window pane? Gold key? Sugar cube?

Ban football?

PS - you are on a football message board

No reason to bring me into this!

Corey is great. Awesome addition to WARCHANT. One of my favorites.
Having been in the insurance business 40+ years, hearing him state repeatedly on WARCHANT TV that Norvell should violate HIPPA and disclose private medical testing results of a player to other players is very disturbing. Corey, HIPPA is a federal law designed to protect the PRIVACY of personal medical records. Norvell would be in violation of federal law, be guilty of violating a players legally protected rights and could be sued and terminated if he disclosed Covid results. Violating HIPPA isn’t running a STOP sign. It’s more like armed robbery. I hope Corey reads this, rethinks and retracts his advice to Norvell on disclosing Covid test results.

Alright counselor let’s start the athletes bill of rights oh that already started today seems odd but maybe you are right lol

He did backtrack and say - at least release info like UVA does - report total number of test, total number of positives vs negatives, etc... FSU isn't even releasing those numbers like UVA does.

All you have to say is "Team, stay away from (enter player name here) for 10 days." HIPAA still intact.

It’s HIPAA. All the that needs to happen is a release. The player can make the decision on if they want to sign the release.

what and social distance 6 feet. I think if you are correct football should move to spring or next fall. I want to see football, but not at the expense of player and coaches health.

so I ask if there was a game this weekend, would we have enough to play. If we didn’t have enough players and say game was against Samford and they had enough to suit up, what happens? Does it just get cancelled, does it go down as a forfeit by us. Or the reverse?

I get it but what’s to be gained?

Never heard of anyone dying from those.
However, an asymptomatic Covid positive if not detected in a timely fashion and dealt with accordingly has the real possibility of spreading it to someone who could die which is why we have 160000 plus deaths in a matter of 6 months.

You know what would be interesting is to get the figures of unrelated Covid deaths this year to see how much better every other illness has declined so much. Should make you wonder unless you’re a sheep.

1 time a week swabbing players is good, but it needs to be 3 times a day using needles for DJ and Warren.
