Won't be selling many of them after that stellar PR move.
Yeah man, thanks. Got up to mom's deck. She's right on the creek...Cman - I saw that your hood got flooded. You guys doing ok?
They still claim they had permission. As much money and vehicles that they give to the school, I'm sure they probably did at least from someone.

Discussed in the Irma thread. I'd merge them but that would mess up that thread.

Not a real Feed Berry then. I'll give Gary a pass cause he's a geezer...
Typical social media driven outrage of the day type of controversy. You'll never hear of this again in a week. No doubt the dealership got permission but is covering for the person who gave them the permission due to the current firestorm. A true tempest in a teapot situation and I mean the pun. Would be a much more important story if many people would show up claiming that they weren't allowed to shelter their car somewhere and suffered substantial damage.

I mean students who pay to go to school and park in those garages are the ones that brought it to everyone's attention so I would say yes it did. Can't tell from the reports...did these cars inconvenience anybody? I wonder if the media is badly disappointed that Irma didn't flatten every house in Leon County and is searching for something click-worthy.

If they took covered spots from those for whom they were intended, then yes. And they did. Can't tell from the reports...did these cars inconvenience anybody? I wonder if the media is badly disappointed that Irma didn't flatten every house in Leon County and is searching for something click-worthy.
Napleton infiniti sucks. I will never do biz with them again. While this is beyond minor it shows their attitude
They got ripped on FB. Not a good look for them at all.
They were going back and forth responding with people saying they had permission and thought it would be okay because they donate so much to FSU etc. Then an offical from FSU came in over the top and said you are not a current donor and did not have permission. They disappeared after that.
People started piling on after that.
How many cars was it? Per the pictures I saw on Facebook it only looked like maybe 10 cars at the most; while it still isn't right, it's not as big of a deal if that's the case. Does anyone have a count?
I thought it was their whole inventory?

They run teams of 10 or twelve and shuttle them back in vans...I'm curious about the logistics of moving the whole inventory...how many vehicles, how many employees involved, how long did it take before the storm hit? Those car carriers only hold 8 vehicles each. How many of those did they use and go back and forth and back and forth? Sounds like a nightmare.
The fact that the dealership was told to remove their cars by the FSUPD legitimizes the shaming some IMO.I think this is going to turn out to be another case of facebook vigilantes who jump into public shaming because it makes us feel good.

They admitted the person from whom they received permission had no authority to give it. If they are truly as connected as they claim to be, they should know who to call.It sounds to me like they got permission from someone and then once it got found out by higher ups who didn't want to deal with the bad PR, they made them leave.

I think the dealership was ballsy, and wrong, to even ask for the accommodation. But I agree that it seems highly unlikely that they unilaterally transferred 80 cars to FSU without some semblance of purported approval. Seems plausible that the "approval" came from some low-level functionary who was then (correctly) overridden by a higher authority.
Freakin' interns!
