These decisions were both expected, but have been approved today:
One removes the rule that conferences must have divisions to hold a championship game. Now that they've removed that rule, expect the ACC and others to drop divisions in the next year or two. The Pac-12 has already announced they are doing it.
The other ruling removes the 25-player limit on new scholarships each year. There is still the 85 overall limit, but schools can sign over 25 per year -- but this is only for the next two years. It's to offset all the roster issues caused by the pandemic and transfer portal.
