NCAA Doubles: Allen, Bissett fall in round of 16

Florida State’s Vic Allen and Millie Bissett fell to the sixth-ranked Fiona Crawley and Carson Tanguilig of North Carolina 6-2, 6-2 in the round of 16 in the NCAA Doubles Championship on Wednesday.

The 17th-ranked Allen and Bissett grabbed the early lead as they won the first game and took the early 1-0 lead.

Crawley and Tanguilig responded by claiming six out of the next seven games to win the first set 6-2.

The pair yet again secured the first game in the second set to take the 1-0 lead. The duo went on to win another game later in the set, but fell short 6-2, 6-2.

The duo finished the season with 14 victories, including three ranked wins, and were named ACC Doubles Team of the Week in March this spring.

Allen finishes her Seminole career with 89 wins in doubles, which puts her fifth all-time in doubles wins. Combined with 88 singles victories, she is tied for seventh in program history with 177 total wins.

Florida State finished the season ranked 22nd in the final ITA team rankings. The team earned 17 wins, which included nine ranked victories, while playing into the semifinal round of the ACC Tournament for the 20th time and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the seventh straight time.
