As early as this weekend, look for the leaks of an NFL lockout coming. Much like the MLB, the two sides are miles apart on an agreement that’s beneficial for both parties in terms of the health of the players.

This is one of the reasons I doubt a season happens. If they can’t agree on paid athletes, it’s going to be impossible state by state for student-athletes.

A good friend is a Top Sports Agent and he told me weeks ago The NFL would not play this year unless they got major concessions from the Players...most don't know this but under The CBA if they even played one game and then the league got shut down The Owners would be on the hook for all the guaranteed money in each players contract..The Owners are never going to take that risk and the players are not going to give it up either

That article you posted yesterday was crazy to me. If a player gets sick with Covid from anything to do with team activities, it should be a no brainer that they get paid. If the owners can't agree to that, no way is there a season and the vast majority of fans would back the players.

Yeah man it’s about to get ugly. No way this gets fixed before training camps start in a few weeks without major concessions from owners.

I have stopped worrying about the NFL a long time ago. I watched my team from the 1950's supporting them like the world would end without them. They have found a way to eliminate me and many of my friends from not caring if they ever play another game again. The last football I will engage in is my beloved Seminoles unless a group of knuckleheads decides to screw that up. Just an old guy thinking out loud.

I predict it gets worked out. Lifespan of a NFL player’s career is limited and most cannot afford to miss a year. The agents I know, expect a season to happen

Yeah it’s a mixed bag. I know some agents and have heard mixed things. The NFLPA side is where I have my best connections for those who know me. They aren’t confident At all, lol.

NFLPA has a new President who might have a few more brain cells than some of the previous guys. I think most players will need their checks by week three of the season. It has always been that way.

Same, once free agency started I lost interest in the NFL, rarely even watch the super bowl. I fear that this started happening with college football with uncontrolled spending, the transfer portal and the lack of loyalty from players all the way to coaches. With all that is going on now it may just be the beginning of the end of major college football as we know it, sadly.
