Heading there this summer for a week. Any tips? Can't get there by car so I'm thinking the key is to plan the groceries well / mange the logistics of the shuttle boats and grocery pickup, etc.

Also, this comment makes me want to ask a question:
Hoping to just uber around and not rent a car bc I plan to permabuzz for the weekend.

Can you get a dui driving a golf cart? Asking for a friend.

I’ve vacationed there three times and it’s a fun place. I recommend bringing all the groceries, drinks and alcohol you want as there are only two places to get it on the island. One is at a little seafood restaurant that closes early and the other is the club on the south side of the island but the groceries are limited. There aren’t any cars you can drive around.

Everything is done on golf carts and I’ve never seen a police officer there.

I would reserve a spot on one of the two companies who ferry to the island.

You can call your order into the local Publix and they will have it delivered by boat

You can get a DUI while riding a bicycle drunk so yes to the Golf Cart. Funny story... My parents live in a golf course community and all the members get loaded then drive home on the golf course, which is private property, so the police don't have jurisdiction. One night a lady got nice and drunk, drove her cart right into a lake.
