So far, Mike Norvell has done everything right. He has won over the fans, did a great jon in the early signing period and assembled a good, but I would not say great staff. That was until today. I don’t like the analyst hire, but who knows what he expects from an analyst. However, picking Johnson over Lockett to coach running backs is, imo, a big mistake. We need the pipeline to south Florida and someone on staff who has relationships there. That person was Lockette. Blunder no 1 or 2.

Prior to the bowl game, In an interview, Norvell said he was happy with the current quarterbacks and stated he would not be seeking a GT or JUCO QB. If he is one of those guys that is too proud to go back on his public statements (not saying he is) and thinks he can “fix” Blackman, that will be a tremendous blunder. Not many teams win with true freshman quarterbacks and we need an experienced quarterback behind an offensive line that will have to be in a rebuilding stage. Not signing an experienced QB will be a huge mistake and add a year to any rebuilding project. Purdy will not get here until the summer and while Rodemaker is an early enrollee, we all have had enough of ineffective quarterback play behind our offensive line.

Coach, please don’t make a big blunder and not go get the best available QB.
