Unless this dude is bringing along his entire current staff (which isn’t reasonable considering a NY6 game potential and assistants usually stay behind for those at least), then I doubt he already has an assistant staff lined up. As everyone has mentioned, he’s preparing for a game tomorrow.
That makes the week delay for the AAC title game even worse, and becomes Willie 2.0 in regards to the first recruiting cycle/assistants. You end up with Walt Bell and Harlon Barnett types because there’s no way to reasonably assume he gets announced Sunday/Monday and can recruit well in 2 weeks as he’s putting a staff together or recruiting on his own as his staff continues to coach Memphis.
Just scary to think how bad this might get. Taggart was already hired by this point in The cycle, and struggled to recruit because he was mostly doing it on his own. Before you knock Tags recruiting, his best class might’ve been his first in what he was able to do with Woodbey etc.
