OK, first some background:

Odell Haggins doesn't love the media. I didn't cover him as a player, but I've talked to several reporters who did, and they all say that Odell never really enjoyed talking to the media. He wasn't a jerk. He just didn't like it. Some guys are like that ... no big deal.

In my years of covering FSU, I've had a few run-ins with Odell, which I've mentioned before. If he doesn't like something you write, he will DEFINITELY let you know about it. Sometimes again and again. And again. Like, for years. Seriously.

So, now you have a little background about how Odell feels about the media before I share some of the interactions he had with reporters Sunday during Media Day.

First, one reporter apparently is doing a piece about how FSU's culture has changed ... not sure exactly what that means or what time frame they are referencing, but here was the question he asked Odell:

"You've been at FSU a little bit now. How have you seen the culture of FSU change since you first got here to a few years later to now."

I mean ... Odell tried to answer the question. He said some nice things about Jimbo and the program. But "a little bit" and "a few years?" Odell played at FSU 30 years ago and has been on the coaching staff for 23 years. He's literally the longest-tenured coach on the staff. Oh well ...

Then another reporter had this exchange with Odell:

Reporter: "Talk about Thomas. What he brings to the table."
Odell: "Who?"
Reporter: "Henry Thomas?"
Odell: "I don't have a Henry Thomas."

Then a few minutes later, another reporter had this exchange with him:

Reporter: "Can you talk about Janarius Robinson and how he's developed from his redshirt year?"
Odell: "Janarius Robinson?"
Reporter: "Yeah."
Odell: "Brad Lawing coaches him."

I shared all this with another reporter yesterday, and he said, "Sometimes I understand why they don't like us."

No kidding.
