Poop, we used a great boat, left from Hillsboro Inlet.

When I get home, I will see if we can dig up the info on them, we caught a Huge Sailfish and some tuna.

Captain and mate were fantastic.

How many people you taking out, and how big of a boat you looking for?

There are size/number limitations on the smaller charters.

Thanks Bud. Last year we went out of Lake Worth Inlet on the Fighting Lady, a Bertram 38 with 4 people plus crew, so something similar for up to 6 of us, 40'-50' range. This year we are a little further south, as the convention is in Hollywood, so Hillsboro inlet would work.

Last year we trolled right offshore and hooked a bonita in the first 5 mins, then got skunked for the next 3 hrs. The 1st mate cut the bonita in half and we hooked 2 500lb bull sharks at the end of the day, but that wasn't what we were really looking for. And to make matters worse, there was a commercial boat that hooked 3 sailfish 100 yds from us that they didn't even want.

Found out the boat we had last year was a newer "Fighting Lady", a Viking 55. Was a beauty, so something in the 50' range would be perfect.

Nearly every charter will limit you to six. This is because it is an expensive PITB to get a the Coast Guard to approve the boat for more. You can run up tthe six paying passengers without the major hassle. That does not include captain or paid crew, though some captains don't understand that. Btw paying passengers means everybody but the crew. The USCG considers all passengers paid if any of them are.

If I were coming up to Palm Beach County, I'd get up to Singer Island so you could fish off of Palm Beach and Jupiter.

You can find good charters out of here - http://www.sailfishmarina.com/
