I was skeptical at Ben Afflect being cast as BM.

Wasn't really sold on Man of Steel, it was ok but not like Superman the Movie.

But I have to say I'm impressed with this new trailer now that I understand the ending of MOS. This looks pretty incredible. I've been waiting for years for a Batman Superman movie together.

Superman rips the doors off the bat mobile and stands atop of it!!!!! Holy @(#(* I'm in geek over drive!!!!

So, Luther seems a bit looney. If I didn't know better, I would think he's the Joker.

And was Zod's suit painted BY the Joker, addressed to Batman?

I can't help but think of the idiot who entered a movie theater and shot and killed people , whenever I hear of an upcoming batman movie now. I'll wait and get it when it's on sale

So it is ROBIN'S suit that was graffiti'ed by Joker, not Zod.....

And Batman kills someone via neck snapping (which I have a problem with). Its one of the (what looks like) special forces in the desert.

Apparently, Aquaman makes an appearance, but I can't tell who he is in the trailer.

DC Comics and Warner Bros really need to bring in some fresh talent in executives, directors and writers because they are losing big time to Universal.

Aqua Man and Wonder Woman looks to make an appearance. Having Heath Ledger as the Joker would have been epic..

btw, looks really good...so Bruce was in Metropolis when it was destroyed. I like how they will tie the two together; especially since many were ticked off that the city was destroyed and no one seemed to care. Looks like a lot of people cared.

Gotta say that actually gave me hope that this won't be a complete joke.

I like the tie in , I'll watch Man of Steel now.

looks good but.....sure seems it would be way better if they took the marvel approach and had few more movies prior to this. Like one more superman movie and a batman reboot movie, Seems like a ton of backstory to get into one movie.

This is a movie that your just download or rent. Unless you gonna watch it on IMAX

I thought I would hate MOS, but actually liked it a lot, despite the weird ending with the super-goo. I will definitely try to catch this when it comes out.

He's the little kid diving in the water with the trident.

Batman does kill in his older years.

Rhino, I will watch again, but is he with a trident and snorkel?

And what comic did he start killing? Nkt being a faithful reader of the comics, I don't lime that change @ all. But again, not a faithful reader so maybe it's justified and done well.

My expectations have just increased quite a bit...can't say why since I have known for some time that this is essentially the plot.. This is just visually very appealing.

Suppository Batman kills the Joker in the comics in a scene that looks a lot like the ending of the Sarpinos. Joker tells a joke, he starts to laugh hard, Batman who usually never laughs starts to giggle...fade to black..."SNAP"..

My BIL was part of a crew that got to escort the bat mobile into Comiccon over the weekend... Got a pic of him sitting in the driver's seat

I thought the trailer was meh compared to the Marvel trailers and the DC movies have been almost all misses with only a few hits. The weird thing is, although I'm not a comics guy (I've been a natural speed reader absorbing whole pages instantly of books for as long as I can remember so comics I just flew through and were not worth the money to me), but when I did read them at book stores or other people's collections I mainly preferred the DC comics. And it's no comparison in tv where DC blows away marvel both live action and animated (excluding Daredevil which is my favorite superhero show period). But in movies, DC has been almost all duds while Marvel (at least the MCU versions, not Sony or Fox) have been solid gold.

Just in pulling up a list and going off my memory Id give the superhero movies the following rankings on a scale of 1-10 with 5 being a typical summer blockbuster and 10 an absolute classic.

DC Movies

Superman - 9/10
Superman 2 - 9/10
Swamp Thing - 4/10
Superman 3 - 3/10
Supergirl - 2/10
Superman 4 - 1/10
Return of Swamp Thing - 3/10
Batman - 9/10
Batman Returns - 5/10
Batman Forever - 3/10
Batman and Robin - 2/10
Steel - 1/10
Catwoman -1/10
Batman Begins - 8/10
Superman Returns - 2/10
Dark Knight - 9/10
Watchmen - 9/10 (yes I realize some fanboys hate it because of the lack of spacesquid but I loved it)
Jonah Hex - 3/10
Green Lantern - 3/10
Dark Knight Rises - 6/10
Man of Steel - 4/10

Meanwhile the MCU movies I'd give

Iron Man - 9/10
The Incredible Hulk - 6/10
Iron Man 2 - 9/10
Thor - 8/10
Captain America - 10/10
Avengers - 10/10
Iron Man 3 - 8/10
Thor: The Dark World - 8/10
Captain America Winter Soldier - 9/10
Guardians of the Galaxy - 10/10
Avengers Age of Ultron - 9/10

The other Marvel movies have been more miss than hit like the DC versions.

Blade - 8/10
X-Men - 8/10
Blade 2 - 7/10
Spiderman - 8/10
Daredevil - 5/10 (I think this is unfairly maligned because of Ben Affleck, it's far better than the DC stinkers like Batman and Superman 3s and 4s)
X2 - 8/10
Hulk - 4/10
The Punisher - 4/10
Spiderman 2 - 8/10
Blade Trinity - 5/10
Elektra - 3/10
Fantastic Four - 3/10
X-Men Last Stand - 6/10
Ghost Rider - 2/10
Spiderman 3 - 2/10
Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer - 3/10
Punisher War Zone - 4/10
X-Men Origins Wolverine - 3/10
X-Men First Class - 9/10
Ghost Rider SOV - 2/10
The Amazing Spiderman - 7/10
The Wolverine - 5/10
The Amazing Spiderman 2 - 5/10
X-Men Days of Future Past - 10/10

For a first trailer, from Comic Con, that's 3+ minutes long, it was a little underwhelming. But I'll still go see it. Like pizza, even the bad comic movies can be satisfying to some degree.

Also, it has a March release date right? Tells me even the studio knows it isn't that good.

Seriously, the horrific CGI is a major turn off. Does Snyder just green screen all of his movies now? It looks like the actors showed up in some warehouse one weekend to film it.

Considering he's a poor man's Michael Bay that tries to rip off every other big budgeted action oriented director.

My hopes are that Snyder eventually gets phased out from creative control.

Just curious what the op didn't understand about the ending that has now changed his mind on that movie? Are you referencing the death of Zod or something else that I've forgotten.

Yeah I USUALLY see Comic Book movies in full IMAX on release just to be there with the nerdboy energy (equivalent to going to a stadium versus watching a game at home) and see the cosplayers. BUT....the criznap that was the last two Superman movies plus Green Lantern and the final dud to the American Psycho Batman Trilogy has me seriously debating not going to it.

On the plus side, most of the dork reviews of AntMan have been really good. I was concerned about this one, but in addition to the great reviews I've started giving MCU movies a great benefit of the doubt (especially when GOTG was so amazing) just the opposite of my DC will have to regain my trust attitude.

Looks terrible IMO. No better than MOS. I can't get past Affleck as Batman. Ditto with Zuckerberg as Luther.
I agree. Not sure how anybody got excited with that trailer. Same DC crap they have been generating for years.
