Manufactures letting rich idiots drive basically a Racing cars (You probably don't know it began as a racing car design) on the street -yes.

I bet you would maybe not feel the same way if some rich idiot took out you and your family on a similar city street (instead of a tree) and you then found out afterwards the car is basically a racing car for the super rich and meant for a controlled environment like a track to be driven by professionals. It had a V10 600 HP engine is in the middle for quicker turning yet it has no stability control like most sports cars. Notorious for being vey hard to handle. And I don't think you should just let anyone drive around in those. Again, the issue is do they have a liability for gladly taking peoples $500,000 and giving them (and the unsuspecting public) way too dangerous a product to use.

I'd feel the exact same way. It wasn't the car's fault, it was the driver's fault. Just like a gun can't shoot me. I'm not getting mad at the gun, it's the idiot holding it.

I DO know it was a race car design... MANY MANY performance cars start as a race car design. The Dodge Viper ACR is worse than the GT. Ban that too I guess. The engine is in the middle, holy crap, better get all the Toyota MR2's off the road.

What you are suggesting is that this car is some sort of unicorn. There are faster cars out there. a lot of them. Lambo Aventador SV, Dodge Viper ACR, Corvette Z06, Corvette ZR1, Nissan GT-R. There are many cars that are in the same class of speed (i.e. almost as fast) like the BMW M3 / M4 / M5, Audi R8, Caddy CTS-V, standard C6 Corvette, Porsche 911 etc. None of these cars go out of their way to kill people... but idiots behind the wheel of any car can kill people by doing stupid things. It doesn't take cars of this class either...

there are more issues with Mustangs than any of the cars I listed, including the Porsche, so at what point does it stop? I had a 2003 Mustang GT that was the easiest car to lose control of out of any car I have owned. It had a whopping 260 HP. For some fun youtube Mustang wrecks.

That's after it melted. Take a look at the video (I won't post it as it's graphic depending on the person looking at it and there's a possibility that Walker or the other guy was burning alive in it....Law Enforcement CLAIMS that it's just the roof melting and twisting from the heat of the flames BUT to the naked eye it looks like you can see a human shape struggling to get out of the flames for a few seconds) and you'll see the car was mostly intact and looking like a normal car....except with huge flames. I'm not even 100% convinced that pic is from the wreck (the pics are from onlookers while the the video definitely is legit as law enforcement used it in their report).

Gasoline can't melt steel Porsches!

1.You have never been in a school zone?
C'mon man - I was referring to that specific speed limit on that specific road. I know that there are different reasons beyond just the maximum safe driving speed that could factor into how a speed limit is set. For that speed limit on that road; however, I haven't seen/read anything that indicates that there were pedestrian or other concerns that would have contributed to a lower speed limit. Without that information (and with the knowledge that driving too fast led to them skidding off the road and into a tree, where the car burst into flames and the people inside died a horrific death), we're left to conclude that the speed limit was set to 45mph because that's what was deemed to be a safe speed at which to travel down the road. By the driver more than doubling that speed, he turned a safe activity into a deadly one. Porsche's car design didn't do that.

If I knowingly drive my car into a river, where it then sinks and I drown, should my family then sue the manufacturer for making a car that a) didn't float, and b) allowed water to enter the cabin, causing me to drown? Or should I be blamed for not being a better/safer driver and keeping my car out of the river?

After all this reading...still wondering how the driver hitting a tree, an investigation showing no mechanical failure, is somehow Porsche's fault.

What a load of crap.

This story has bothered me from the day it happened.

Walker was an adult and a father. He has only himself to blame for his untimely death - I could not care less if the car went 200 MPH and was made of paper: Driving like his friend did (and apparently Walker had no problem with) is a selfish, childish move for an adult and especially a father. His first priority that day should have been getting home in one piece to his family.

I had a friend in high school who used to drive fast...like over 100 MPH on the highway. I told him to slow down as I would like to get home in once piece. He of course had to call me "pussy", "wuss" or whatever idiotic comment he could think of - I finally told him I would not get in a car with him anymore and never did.....and I was only about 18 at the time.

I see people all the time driving like assholes, weaving in and out of traffic with no room for error. I personally would not stop and piss on any of these assholes if they were burning on the side of the road. People that drive in this aggressive fashion put everyone at risk and personally I want to get home to my family tonight.
