I've been fairly critical of Jimbo's play calling so far this year but I must admit he called a great first half last night.
There were some execution issues and I think there were times in the red zone where he got cute instead of dancing with the one that got him there but overall it was a solid game. The new wrinkles had zip and I very much enjoyed seeing motion and getting the ball to Whitfield in space. Dalvin is Dalvin so there's no need to discuss that part of the game plan.
If he kicks instead of going for it on 4th, Whitfield catches the TD (or Izzo or Dalvin doesn't pull up) and if Whitfield catches the ball right before the half we put at least 10 more points up in the first half and pretty much bury the Canes.
That was a great game by Jimbo, executed well by Golson with Dalvin being Dalvin. I hope to see more of that going forward.
