Propane Grill advice needed.

Thanks for the thread and responses. I am buying a grill soon and was asking myself if the Weber is worth the extra $$$. BTW, if you buy at Lowe's, they deliver and assemble for free.
It 100% is worth the money. I honestly can't think of too many other products that dominate their space the way Weber does. Hands down the best grill on the market

No reason not to own a gas grill other than space. I’m not going to spend an hour or more and wasting money on charcoal on some chicken breast for a Thursday night meal. But I will fire up the gas grill and toss one in immediately.........

Completely agree, just silly to be pro 1 or the other. I am a grown man, I will own one of each for my specific needs.

And I can't speak to Weber, but was going to add about what NOT to get. The one I have. While it cooks well, gets hot, I've had to fix a couple things on it since it cheaply made IMO. It also doesn't cook evenly. Considering that they are no longer sold as a brand, it seems that you don't need to worry. :)

However based on the reviews here, I may get a Weber when this one finally dies.

Anyone have the infrared grill?
Got one for xmas but haven't used it yet..
I have a TEC Patio II infrared. It gets insanely hot. It's fantastic for steaks, chicken etc. but not the best choice for slow cooking or low temp cooking.

Weber grills were on sale at Home Depot yesterday (Orlando)- $100-200 off which is a really good price, lowest I have seen.

Get a Weber. Don't ask questions, just get a Weber. And, if you have a choice, don't get one at Home Depot. Go to a local hardware store. I believe True Value has Weber. They have the better accessories in them. Home Depot buys for cheap.

Now that I’ve going to have two decent sized decks (one halfway up and another all the way up a floor and a half staircase), one of those decks is going to be the “cooking deck” with a gas grill, a small smoker and an egg. I haven’t decided on what I’m getting precisely yet for all three, but I’m definitely getting all three.
Take a look at the Primo as a possible replacement for the Egg. They’re a quality product and still made in America.

Can't speak on gas cause I don't own one, but Weber is quality. I'm 57 and have had 2 kettles and 1 WSM in my life.

Couldn't you just buy the grill at HD and get accessories separately on online? ACE/True Value is always so much more expensive.

ACE/True Value stores are consistently more expensive than just about anyplace else. We have one right by our house. Hell, they're more expensive than Publix for basic items like light bulbs.

That's fine, but research the price differences for the upgrades. I doubt that you'll get a set of stainless flavorizer bars and a set of stainless steel or cast iron grates (over enameled steel) for less than the upcharge for a hardware store. And the local True Value here offers free grill setup and delivery and free removal of your old grill.

The Weber Genesis I have came from Home Depot and included stainless flavorizer bars and cast iron grates.

I am 51 and have owned maybe 3-4 grills. Always buy the middle priced of the road grills at Lowes. They last years. IMO a grill cover is just as important as the grill. Of course I am not a grill master; steaks, burgers etc. is my limit.

Bought mine from Amazon before they charged tax. You might still get it tax free as it has to ship from Weber. They deliver it via flatbed. Took me 2 hours to put to together.
