As most of you that follow recruiting closely know one of the other recruiting services predicted that FSU 2025 QB commit Tramell Jones will flip to Florida between now and Early National Signing Day. I have spoken to two people familiar with Jones' recruitment since that prediction was made.
One thinks that this could happen as early as this weekend. However, I am taking that with a grain of salt because he has a rooting interest in where Tramell end up in January. I spoke with another source who doesn't have a dog in this fight, and he felt less certain that a flip was imminent. His understanding was that Florida has indeed continued to pursue Jones aggressively but that no decision had been made yet. It was also his understanding that Jones and his family are keeping a close eye on what changes FSU head coach Mike Norvell makes to his coaching staff and that would play a factor into how this will all play out. He thinks that Tramell and his family will make a decision based on who he is coached by at FSU (he as a very strong relationship with QB coach Tony Tokarz) and Jones will not make a decision one way or the other until then. What my second source did not know was if the decision was being made off strictly who was coaching quarterbacks or the offensive staff as a whole. His read was that this will not play out this weekend and he still likes FSU's chances of keeping Jones.
