I see there are varying media reports out there providing various takes on the story. As we noted in the Warchant story, the case is considered "open/inactive." While the police have done all they probably will here, there's nothing preventing the state attorney from filing charges. So the case isn't really "closed". That being said, we've checked with a source inside the police department and it seems unlikely anything else will come from this incident. With Francois' version of events being backed up by Zaquandre White, and the fact that he made the call to TPD, the feeling is there isn't enough to pursue this matter further.
Also, checked with a source at FSU and the feeling there is that this is much ado about nothing. The early opinion is that it's extremely unlikely that any serious punishment will come down on Francois as a result of this "incident". Obviously the rumor making the rounds this morning that he was "dismissed" from the team was completely unfounded.
How this is treated in the media could be a different story. But unless something dramatically changes or comes out we don't know about, this incident shouldn't result in any legal sanctions or impact his playing status at FSU.
