229 is in the market for a new vehicle and loves the Range Rover Velar, have driven an F150 for many years...looking for something more sexy.

Any LR peeps have insight on the Range Rover brand regarding durable etc?

No idea but hoping RRR has something to say on this topic. For some reason this seems like it would be in his wheelhouse.

got to drive this last week. Enjoyed it immensely and looking at it closely. It's more reliable now that Ford owns it and not the Brits. It's not as stiff as the old box-style ones used to be. But maintenance is still expensive

Range Rover Evoque - a draw back is that I think it only comes in a 4 cyl with a turbocharger. Had a good enough get-up with the turbocharger..but would like to have a 6.

The blonde highlights would look good blowingnin the wind in the convertible but the Velar still is #1 right now

I sat in a Velar over the weekend. I'm tall, and I thought that the post between the front and back doors (pillar?) Should be back 3 or 4 inches farther than where is. Made getting in and out more uncomfortable than it should have been. Once inside though, it was really nice. Almost everything is touch screen - they got rid of almost all the buttons.

That's how the Tesla Model X is...kind of eerie.

Part of the reason why maintenance is expensive?

Got a flashback from my father talking about how push start buttons on cars would easily fail when they first came out. Fast forward to owning numerous vehicles with that feature and I don't think he has ever had one fail lol.

But I agree and now I have become the old man not trusting the technology.

This vehicle looks sort of small to me with tiny windows, sort of like that mini hummer that came out years ago.

Guess I don't know why you would by the low end of the line. If you want a range rover get a Range Rover. Small, underpowered, and not much room for a SUV. If you must have something in this class, the Macan Turbo. Way better ride. But I wouldn't commend either.

The wife has this...a 2012 Evoque. She loves it. It's not a big vehicle and handles like a sports car. No complaints.

That last pic looks like a genetically defected infant smiling while taking a dump.

I owned a LR about 7 years ago. Really liked it, nice ride and we'll appointed. The problem was there was always something wrong with it, probably how it earned the moniker "The Weekend Warrior".

You need the Raptor. 229 can’t be driving around in a “Velar.” Sounds too much like the Plymouth Volare. Not sexy.

If you're going to get a Range, get the real deal. The new Discovery and Velar both are weak. Entry level crap for folks that can't afford the Real deal Range Rover
