I'm not surprised we aren't firing on all cylinders offensively.
You don't lose Nick O'Leary, Rashaad Greene, Jameis Winston and 4 of your 5 starting Offensive Linemen and expect to just pick up where you left off. That just doesn't happen.
But we'll keep getting better. I posted in another thread that our problems are:
1) Inexperienced Offensive Linemen. But they'll keep getting better as the year progresses. Do you remember the 2011 Russell Athletics Bowl when Bobby Hart, Tre Jackson, Austin Barron and Josue Matias started? It was ugly the entire first half. Then they grew up. The same thing should happen as the season goes on here.
We'll keep getting better as the year progresses.
2) Golson is still trying to get comfortable running our offense. But I think the problems go deeper than that. I think the fact that he has very young Wide Receivers that he is throwing to isn't helping either. Jimbo's offense is completely based on timing between the QB and Wide Receivers. But I'm not giving Golson a pass either. I'm just saying that Golson's problems are compounded by the mistakes the receivers make.
3) The Wide Receivers simply have to get better. Too many dropped passes like the one Bobo dropped early in the game.
Dalvin Cook is our only real game changer right now. And teams will continue to stack the box against him until we get the passing game clicking.
