Sad to see that news & very much regret not having ever seen him in concert. When I was a kid, I thought of him as the goofy bumpkin that co-hosted Hee Haw. As I grew up, I came to realize that he was one of the best guitarists I'd ever see.

If it had strings, he could play it.If you watch the video I linked on YouTube, you'll see the first comment is from someone who was 5yo when he met Roy in 1956. He had a cheap plastic ukulele that was new...Roy walked over, tuned it for him, and played the cheap plastic ukulele.
