Savannah or Key West?

Looking to take a trip with the wife first week of December. Have never been to Savannah and haven't been to KW in quite a few years. What do you guys think?

Also, been interested in recommendations(hotel/activities/food) for whatever place you choose.

Savannah's a great foodie/drunk town. If you've never been before, I suggest you pay it a visit.

Stay at the Bohemian Downtown, especially if you happen to have any Marriott points to burn. There's also a relatively nice Hyatt next door to the Bohemian.

Coming from New York, I'd rather spend the first week of December in the Keys than in Savannah.

I'd go with Savannah, unless you're specifically looking for a beach trip. Les nailed several of the reasons why. There's also some great Christmas stuff around town in December.

Thats really the debate: better weather or better everything else, right?

I think if its just a weather thing, then I could just go to some island. Lots to do in Savannah activity wise? We are definitely foodies, but not really drinkers.

There are a ton of things to do in Savannah which is why I'd recommend it as well. Between the historical aspect, food, and other typical touristy things I don't think you'd have trouble finding things you like.

I have a house in Key West and love it there but if you've never been to Savannah, I recommend going there... always good to checkoff another destination... and, it is a fantastic trip.

I would choose Savannah, it is beautiful in December. We stayed at river street inn, get a room on the river with a balcony, was awesome!

Eat at Jazz, which is a tapas restaurant. GREAT food.

Savannah during the holiday season is absolutely fantastic. The city looks its best and it really has become a nice restaurant town. (Lady and Sons excluded, of course.)

Go to Kevin Barrys for a couple Guinness and head up stairs to looks at the hall of hero's. Awesome place and the owner Vic is a great guy. As far as eating check out the Green Truck for lunch and there are a ton of good places for dinner. If you like history there are a ton of things to see, you have a pretty good maritime museum, SCAD for some art stuff and the ghost tours. One thing to remember is when you are walking around downtown pay attention; you can go from wow this place is cool to holy crap this does not look like a good neighborhood real fast.

I was just in Savannah a couple of weeks ago. I stayed at the Hyatt.....wished I'd stayed at the Bohemian. I ended up eating at a restaurant called "Alligator Soul" which I would recommend highly. I actually went back the next night, as well.
