Track and Field Schipperen races to 1-mile win at Jimmy Carnes Invite

The Florida State indoor track and field team competed at the Jimmy Carnes Invite in Gainesville on Friday as Bieke Schipperen stole the show for the Noles.

Schipperen broke the facility record in the one mile run that was set by her teammate Suus Altorf last year, which marks the fourth-fastest time in FSU history at 4:35.15.

Altorf won the 3,000-meter, clocking the 10th-fastest time in FSU history in the event with a time of 9:14.31.

In addition to Schipperen in the one mile run, Brooke Mullins followed in third with a lifetime best of 4:39.43. Elizabeth Barlow placed fourth, clocking a lifetime best of 4:45.16. Emily Brown finished in sixth at 4:51.37. Ella Menke placed ninth at 5:00.47. Olivia Niewald clocked a new personal best at 5:00.49, placing 10th. Lauren Mahan followed in 15th with a lifetime best of 5:03.65. Regan Morrall rounded out the event in 24th with a new career best at 5:16.82.

Austin Kleinman collected his first win of the season in the men’s weight throw with a mark 17.96m (58' 11¼"). Cooper Crowell followed in second at 17.79m (58' 4½"). Jackson Hamilton rounded out the event for the Noles in fifth at 16.21m (53' 2¼").

British Wilkerson led FSU in the men’s 300, placing second with a time 32.66. Micahi Danzy followed in third at 33.34

Kaelyaah Liburd won the women’s 400-meter with a lifetime best and 10th-fastest time in FSU history at 53.90.

Lucy May Sleeman placed third in the women’s 60 with a time of 7.48. Liana Tyson followed in fourth at 7.49.

Jaden Francis led the women’s 800 with a personal best of 2:10.44. Nicole Dinan followed in sixth with a time of 2:13.48. Avery Cahoon finished in seventh with a career best of 2:14.35. Lauren Mahan clocked a lifetime best of 2:16.49, placing 12th. Lily Moore finished in 17th with a career best of 2:24.08. Olivia Niewald rounded out the event for the Noles in 18th with a lifetime best of 2:24.35.

Zach Trotter took home the win in the men’s 800 with a lifetime best of 1:50.60, clocking the eighth-fastest time in FSU history. Anthony Herrera followed in second with a career best of 1:50.70, tying the ninth-fastest time in school history.

Curtis Williams won the long jump with a measurement of 7.58m (24' 10½"). Jaiden Rollins followed in sixth at 7.03m (23' 0¾"). Kyvon Tatham concluded the event in 10th at 6.88m (22' 7").

Altorf competed for the Noles in the women’s 1,000-meter, taking second place with a career best of 2:42.38.

Curtis Bain placed fourth in the men’s 400 with a time of 49.21.

Andre Korbmacher took the men’s 60 hurdle title with a time of 7.75. Tyson Williams finished third at 7.88.

Alyia Green placed sixth in the women’s 300 with a lifetime best of 38.78.

Shenese Walker won the women’s 200 with a time of 23.68. Oludoyin Soremi placed 13th with a lifetime best of 25.27.

Azharia Jones secured third in the women’s long jump with personal best of 5.68m (18' 7¾" )Me’Yauney Peoples followed in sixth with a lifetime best of 5.61m (18' 5" ). Adina Jackson rounded out the event for the Noles in 22nd at 5.09m (16' 8½").

In addition to Schipperen in the one mile, Brooke Mullins followed with a lifetime best of 4:43.31. Emily Brown placed fifth, clocking a career best of 4:47.01. Elizabeth Barlow clocked a lifetime best of 4:49.02 in sixth. Addison Boyer finished in seventh with a lifetime best of 5:00.94. Lauren Mahan in eighth (5:03.34), Ava Povich ninth with a personal best of 5:03.67. Olivia Niewald finished in tenth with a career best of 5:04.76. Ella Menke followed in 11th with a personal best of 5:05.52. Lilly Moore placed 12th at 5:13.57. Rebecca Bergnes followed in 13th with a time of 5:17.57. Regan Morrall rounded out the event in 15th (5:22.07).

Takiyah Ferguson competed in the women’s 60 hurdles, placing ninth with a time of 8.92.

Oluwadara Soremi finished in fourth in the women’s triple jump with a mark of 11.83m (38' 9¾"). Kayla Pinkard followed in fifth at 11.80m (38' 8¾").

Zianna Curtis led the Noles in the women’s weight throw, placing sixth with a lifetime best of 16.37m (53' 8½"). Madison McGloin followed in ninth with a career best at 16.00m (52' 6").

Jackson Hamilton concluded his day in the men’s shot put with a personal best of 13.51m (44' 4").

Shenese Walker won the women’s 200 with a time of 23.68. Oludoyin Soremi finished in 13th at 25.27.

Neo Mosebi placed second in the men’s 60 with a time of 6.66

Addison Boyer finished behind Altorf in the 3,000, placing fourth with a time of 9:49.53. Ava Povich followed in fifth with a lifetime best of 9:53.22. Rebecca Bergnes finished in seventh at 9:57.77. Dani Thompson rounded out the event for FSU in ninth at with a career best of 10:06.51.

LaQuan Ellis placed sixth in the men’s triple jump with a mark of 14.92m (48' 11½"). Jayden Louis-Charles rounded out the event in 10th at 14.69m (48' 2½").

Zach Leachman opened his season winning the men’s 3,000 with a lifetime best of 8:06.17. Zach Cloud followed in second at 8:10.50. Joe Farley placed third with a career best at 8:11.09. Kaden Levings clocked a lifetime performance of 8:27.04. Tanner Simonds finished in 16th (8:35.86). Bernardo Barnhart crossed the line in 18th with a career best of 8:38.42.

The women’s 4x400 relay finished second as Liburd, Green, Francis and Wilson clocked 3:36.79 to record the sixth-fastest time in FSU history. The men’s relay team of Herrera, Trotter, Farley and Cloud finished fourth with a time of 3:18.31.

Florida State is back in action January 31-February 1 at the Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky.
