I'm tired of and embarrassed by the clown show. At least now that we're 0-4, we don't have to keep saying things like, "This is our worst start since (fill in the year)," because from now on we can just say "....since 1973," regardless of how many games we eventually lose. For those of you who aren't as ancient as I am, '73 was a bad year for Nixon and the Seminoles----President Nixon went 0 for Watergate and we went 0-11. It was my first year of grad school and I sat in the stands for every home loss, including the last one where we were all singing "Good-bye, Larry! Good-bye, Larry. Good-bye, LARRY. We're glad to see you go."
But, bad as this year's team is, we have seen (very) brief sparks of lucidity and even competence. The '73 squad by comparison was totally hapless. But still, those sparks are too brief and too few to beat anyone on our major CFB schedule. Now I did switch over a couple of times yesterday and I noticed a change in our 3rd down strategy. Instead of turning 3rd and one into 4th and four like we have been, yesterday we merely turned 3rd and four into 4th and four with horrendous play calling and inept execution. But hey, that's progress. Let's see......who do we lose to next Saturday.
