I watched TCU today and Baylor later in the day put up a boat load of points, almost effortlessly, against teams (i.e., Texas and Texas Tech) that are at least as talented, if not more talented, than USF, BC and Wake. FSU struggles to put up points against these teams. Why?
I hear a lot about FSU running a "pro-style" offense, and this is a good thing because it gets our QB's "pro ready." Is this offense really the best thing for us? Are we limiting the potential and explosiveness of our athletes by running this offense? Is Jimbo ever going to change, or are we doomed to playing close games against opponents who, at least on paper, are greatly inferior?
Maybe we chalk today up to bad weather, being rusty after a long layoff, failing to get excited about playing Wake, etc. That said, watching this offense is getting to be painful, and I'm wondering whether a lot of this has to do with scheme.
Thoughtful comments appreciated.
