Florida State LB Matthew Thomas to reportedly miss fall camp with shoulder injury

Florida State linebacker Matthew Thomas missed the final chunk of spring ballwith a shoulder injury, and on Tuesday head coach Jimbo Fisher revealed the injury will linger into the 2015 season.
Thomas’ absence is the continuation of a frustrating trend for both his career and the Seminoles’ linebacker corps as a whole. A five-star prospect out of Miami’s powerhouse Booker T. Washington High School, Thomas injured his shoulder as a true freshman in 2013 and missed most of the 2014 season, first due tosuspension and then due to ankle injury.
The redshirt sophomore claims 12 career appearances with 30 tackles, 4.5 TFLs and one sack.
Elsewhere in his position group, Reggie Northrup is recovering from ACL surgery, Kain Daub and E.J. Levenberry transferred, Delvin Purifoy is working his way back from injury, Terrance Smith missed much of spring ball with a toe injury, and the rest of the group is unproven.
