Since it's the offseason, ITT lettuce discuss our "Honey do lists".

229's are easy...

Golf, drink, party, beach and repeat. Also have a few road trips planned and have to get to ATL to see the 1st place Braves in action.

"Honey do list"???? Sweetie, talk to the maid, pool-boy, yardman, whatever.....JHN doesn’t do chores. You know better than that.
Has your ascot collection been sent out to the cleaners yet? There's always the care and attention involved with that to keep various staff engaged. Supervision is key.

My list has grown immensely in the last few weeks. My wife and I live next door to her parents. Her father passed away about 2 1/2 weeks ago. My lawn to mow grew from 2 acres to 6. I've now got a pool to take care of and lots of other stuff.

Right. The dry cleaning and closet management functions are on wifey’s ledger. If she wants to delegate to a staffer, all fine. Just store the ascots in a dark-to-light color configuration so that I’m not hunting and pecking through the whole inventory looking for the champagne color (for instance). I just need to stay focused on my own considerable cavalier pursuits, and funding the entire orchestra.

I am on vacation in Colorado now and am having a mini family vacation in Sarasota before the summer ends.

Real Honey do list is I am going to paint my pool deck and stain a portion of fence around my house

Care-free, nonchalant or jaunty. Think cruising the intracoastal waterway. Or maybe attending a bourbon tasting. Whatever you enjoy, but always undertaken with great ease and personal panache, of course. The term is rarely heard in Jacksonville. :)

I readily admit we're hardly cavalier about anything here in the Bold New City.

Offshore fishing, working on boat, offshore fishing, working on boat...repeat. Billfishing starts weekend of the 4th, so we will be doing that through August.

Then as bungman said, its time to start preparing for hunting season. Bow season starts Oct 6 in Virginia.....

Oh and I had the house power washed and painted as well as planted a raised bed garden for the boss to keep her happy while I am out on the boat.

Cheers....

Some of the defining characteristics of cavalier pursuits involves extrapolation of socks to the proper height as well as striking out on such pursuit wearing clean underwear. So impressed upon my crew by Old Man Jerry at work...

Cavalier Cruising the Intracoastal !
Ahoy Polloi !!!!!

I take on a fairly big project once a year. This time it's replacing the carpet on our stairs with wood. A lot of work for an old, broken down man.

When my parents redid the floors in their two story they went with wood steps too. I found it slippery as hell. Scooted more than once and caught myself.
How do you adress that?

We might put a runner rug down the middle if it proves to be too slippery. Reality here is that now that the kids have moved out, we don't go upstairs often.

Sock feet can be problematic for sure.

We had an historic home when we were in West Palm. The wood stairs were never an issue but I'll keep an eye out.

My parents were a half flight, then a landing, and then the other half down the opposite direction. Trying to add a carpet runner would have probably looked a mess.
Just don't start a hip replacement thread on account of your new stairs...

Ours go to a landing then T off. I'll figure out something if it becomes an issue.

No list here.

I do what I want when I want and the maid does the rest. Have some cavalier pursuits of my own planned for this summer and fall.
