i visited FSU with several top 100 players in the spring of 2017 and left with the feeling that something was definitely wrong. There was absolutely no life in the program and little effort to connect with the recruits.
In spring of 18 I took those same recruits and was pleasantly surprised to see the change in energy within the program. It was more engaging and looked to have turned a corner from a recruiting standout. ( those guys are committed to bama and auburn now)
Unfortunately it was very obvious then we had hired several coaches that wouldn’t be your 1st pick at a high school for a coordinator position.
We have glaring talent needs on the o-line and LB’s but our biggest weakness is the quality of coaches at certain positions. I have no doubt most can recruit but to suggest they are X and O kind of guys is crazy.
The next few months will make or break WT. I think he knows it and will make the changes.
