Making the trip down for the Louisville vs. FSU football game in October. Is St. George Island the best place to stay if you want to be on the Gulf?

That's closest to Tallahassee? Yes. I like Grayton, Seaside, Alys Beach and Watercolor better but St George is closer. There are other beaches even closer like St Teresa but there's no public hotels there just maybe some beach houses for rent.

I'm a low brow fish camp guy - St. Marks is close, cheap and you can get in a couple of days of fishing!

Cape San Blas is my favorite. Just a little farther than SGI but the beach is way less crowded on any given day, beautiful state park on the northern part of the peninsula and more economical.

St. Marks isn't for everybody (wine and cheesers need not attend) lol. I live 10 minutes from there
