Updates after the portion that was open to the media -- we were there for about 30 minutes.

*** They started off with the Oklahoma Drill. Here are some highlights:

Looked like Baveon Johnson won his rep with Robert Cooper, but it was kind of a stalemate. ... Leonard Warner seemed to handle Ryan Roberts ... Tre'Shaun Harrison had a good rep, but couldn't see the defender.

Keith Gavin had a nice block on Asante Samuel. ... Chaz Neal did a good job on Adonis Thomas. ... Tre McKitty blocked DeCalon Brooks pretty well. ... Jauan Williams had a nice rep on Derrick McLendon. ... Gabe Nabers dominated Jaleel McRae on their rep. ... And I think Levonta Taylor beat Keyshawn Helton, although my view was pretty obstructed.

*** Watching the OL, it looked like Mike Arnold is still with the 1s at right guard. Everyone else is still the same: Williams, Scott, Johnson, Arnold and Roberts. The second-team OL was Goss, Armstrong, Boselli, Lucas and Neal.

*** Pretty cool moment with the outside linebackers as they were working on a drill where they had to drop back in coverage ... Mark Snyder was telling Amari Gainer what to do, and Willie Taggart actually came over and demonstrated the drill. The head coach still has some wheels.

*** The players again were battling the heat. Lots of guys were putting cold towels on their heads when it wasn't their turn to run a drill. ... One of the only guys I saw who seemed impervious to the heat was Gainer. That guy looks like he could run all day. Was dancing between drills, while others were gasping.

*** The DBs spent the first part of practice inside the IPF. When they came outside after a couple periods, they ran past the defensive linemen, and Odell Haggins gave them grief for staying in the shade. Mario Edwards barked back at him. It was all in fun.

*** I didn't see Josh Kaindoh out there, though I could have missed him.

*** It looked like they were working on some dime packages, where the extra DBs were Kyle Meyers and Cyrus Fagan, joining Samuels, Samuel, Taylor and Nasirildeen.

*** Definitely looks like Lars-Woodbey has moved ahead of Brooks. The first group at ILB was Jackson and Lars-Woodbey, followed by Rice and Brooks, then McRae and Deloach.

*** Ontaria Wilson and D'Marcus Adams both got compliments after catches in receiver drills. Wilson had run a nice route, and Adams made a nice adjustment on a poorly thrown ball.

That's about it for now. Aslan will post highlights, and we'll have more coverage coming.

Lots of news from Willie today.

Willie started by offering condolences to WRs Coach Darryl Drake of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who passed away this morning. Willie has looked at him as a mentor. “Great person. Thoughts and prayers to family.”

On Marvin Wilson, Willie reiterated what he said yesterday. He’ll be fine. Tweaked knee. No timetable on return. They’re being cautious.

Dennis Briggs has a chance to step in there in meantime ... he’s having good camp. Last three practices really coming around.

Tamorrion Terry still should be back soon. Not gonna rush back.

Still waiting on Jordan Travis decision. Hope this week.

No timetable on Cole Minshew return from neck injury.

Warren Thompson has been out with a concussion. Doing well. Going thru protocol.

On D’Anfernee McGriff joining team ... Willie recruited him at USF. Briles coaches him at FAU. Grad transfer. Will have chance to earn scholarship.

Isaiah Bolden nursing a hamstring. Christian Meadows nursing same shoulder as before.

More coming.
