Nothing worse than work emails flying around on Sundays.

I’m complaining, but not complaining. The emails really are harmless and are sent with the intent to help us become more successful; however, most this stuff could EASILY wait until Monday.

I send emails when it's convenient for me, whether it's Sunday or Monday or 2am Wednesday morning. However, I don't expect a response over the weekend or after regular hours.

If it's important enough to require a response over the weekend, I won't send an email, I'll just call.

My coworkers are lazy attention-whores that "know how the game is played". At 11:00 p.m. every night a set of them start blasting messages around, almost solely to say "hey look at me 'I am working'". On weekends, it is a smaller but more dedicated number of them, they start at 10:00 a.m. and again do not have anything tangible to say.

More often than not their conversations would be more effectively conducted via email dialog - but that makes it much harder to whore.

To quote Colonel Kurtz: "Those nabobs. I hate them. I do hate them."

I recently ordered a work phone which enabled me to remove ALL work apps/ access from my personal device. Yes, it is an extra device I have to carry but that is worth being able to put my phone on silent and away come Friday afternoon. If It's important enough on the weekend, people call. I choose when I want to focus on work. Coincidentally, my time on the LR has increased since getting the work phone.

During my busy season (now) work emails are a common occurrence all weekend long. When it isn’t my busy season, emails on a weekend or after 7 usually means something good isn’t happening.

All based on the need / situation, but I'll exchange notes with other senior team members over weekends, not uncommon.

Anything going external, I many times use the "send later" feature and will queue emails I work on over the weekend to go out Monday AM. So, when I'm come back from the gym Monday morning I have many of the responses I need sitting there waiting on me!

Unless I have volunteered or been asked to monitor or run some process over the weekend, I will not send or answer any emails over the weekend. I fully believe in a good work/life balance, and the weekends are for relaxing and not worrying about what goes on at the office.

It's pretty easy to turn off sync on work email. Flip it off for the weekend and turn it back on Monday and all is good. There are even apps that put email on a schedule
