I’ve been offered a pair of tickets to the Thursday games here in Atlanta. The partner taking me will pick up all the food and drinks as well.

The only problem, I’d miss the FSU game. Now, I could stay for the first game and then go find a bar to watch FSU...but the problem with that is there isn’t any good bars close by outside of the arena....atlanta kind of sucks like that. Id miss most the game.

Idk..I’m kind of torn. What say ye?

Only one team remaining matters and they ain’t playing in Atlanta.

I could not go watch teams play that I don’t care about while the Noles are playing in the Sweet Sixteen. We don’t get this opportunity very often as Florida State fans.

True we'll be here next year with an even better team

My thought too

Dude, do both. Go have fun with club seating and free food and drinks for the 1st game, then walk over to The Sidebar. That place is pretty cool and has lots of TVs. Not far away at all; I've done that pub walk before...

When you say “The partner taking me...”. Is this someone who you work with or for? ie would it be a problem for you to decline the invite?

Follow our game on phone then get somewhere and watch last 10 minutes. I love college basketball but reality is that usually nothing significant happens until last 10 minutes any way. This happened to me Sunday night. I was at a concert and followed on phone watching us play from behind all night. Concert over, rush to tv and watched a great finish.

Taco Mac right outside Philips Arena. Stats on Marietta Street a very short walk as well. Those are two places I can think of just off the top of my head.

I realize I could look this up, but who's playing in Atlanta?

Loyola
Kansans State
UK
Nevada Reno

I’m going to pass. I’m clearly getting old. Nothing exciting about those games to me, and I live 45 minutes from the arena without traffic. Watching our game with a start time of 10-10:30 and then ubering home...way to exhausting for me.

Good lord I’m getting old.

Wrong move IMHO. Should be fun games, plus the partner is inviting you.

I’d go, and I’m not very social (I’d rather be at home with family). It would be fun to experience the final 16 round though and you can keep up with our game on the phone or go to the bar afterwards like you said.

I’d definitely go if I had the opportunity. If you stay home and watch the FSU game and they lose you’ll be %*%*ed you stayed home. If they win then you get an opportunity to watch FSU in the Elite Eight in two days. Meanwhile you might not get a chance to go to the Sweet 16 on someone else’s dime and in good seats again.

Free tickets to an event the magnitude of the Sweet 16. Sounds like a no-brainer to me, regardless of which teams are playing.
This, to me. Seeing sports in real life is usually better than watching them on TV (except for NFL games).

Plus, it's the boss, so you can either earn points, or lose out on them if a peer goes.

That’s a painful group of teams. Might as well just play that at Rupp Arena. Will be 90% Blue.

How can you miss FSU in a sweet 16 game? The first time we have been that deep in the tournament in 7 years.

Are you a Ham hater or just don't care for FSU basketball?

Tough call here is what I will tell you. I have been getting up at 0400 the last few weeks and working till 2100 or so. I was tired when we played Xavier and only managed to see the 1st half. I was happy they looked respectable and at half time I was done; not to mention 0400 was coming soon.Turned the game off and went to sleep; didn't even have to check the score when I woke up because my wife texted me "FSU going to the sweet 16". I was bummed that I missed it. I also stopped watching the choke at doak and went and bought a new truck. Tough call either way; but if FSU wins in a great game you will be bummed, of course if the best games of the tourney are in Atlanta you will be bummed too.

I feel you, man. Once again our game's in the late slot tomorrow. I'm too old for this, and my ol' lady has to get up very early for work.

I was able to get an old college friend to come with, I’m a little more excited now.

Friday will be painful.
