So, the ole lady and I have been together for about 3 years, and she had a 4 yo son.

In July little man went into surgery for what could be called Apple sized balls, from running into a bed; wall; who knows. Dr said he had a hematoma and he went in and stopped the bleeding.

First of August swelling has still not gone down, Mom panics and takes him to ER. They tell her the swelling will go down, everything is normal. Follow ups to urologist say same thing.

Swelling never really goes down.

Two weeks ago his stomach starts getting hard.

A week ago Tuesday I take her to a different GP, who immediately sends him to the ER, who transferred him to LeBonhuer Children’s hospital. A CT scan later, dr says he has a tumor in his balls, stomach and spots on his lungs.

His ball, and mass, removed Thursday in surgery.

Transferred to St Jude today, awaiting more tests. Stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma is all we know at this point.

Googling big words on the internet is scary. Anyhow. T&P’s please.

Very sorry to hear that. He’s in my thoughts and I wish him well.

Dude, that's awful. I'm sorry.
I know several friends who have had to deal with a child with cancer recently. It's sucked, but they've all fought thru it. Wishing the best for you all and the little guy.

Sending some your way, my man.

As you're aware, you're getting world-class care at St. Jude.

In my thoughts and prayers. No child should have to suffer and may God give you and your family the peace that passes all understanding. Here's to a speedy recovery.

A few weeks into this, and I don't know how people do it. Looking at him walking around all skin and bones is rough. I don't know if that's just chemo, or the fact his midsection is so riddled with cancer, he can't keep much food in him. his second pet scan showed some reduction in size, so cautiously hopeful. While St Jude is an amazing place, only complaint I have is they communicate SOOOO much I get lost in all the information sometimes lol. We've got social people, different doctors, a couple oncologists from different areas, line nurses, dentists, anastheasoligists (sp?) etc.

We're staying at home, not on campus, so days he has to go in for scans or tests and he can't eat or drink after midnight are rough. Hard to explain to a 4 yo why they can't eat anything. His mom made the mistake of googling mortality rates and recurrence rates, and she's been a mess since.

Being supportive to him, his mom, and trying to keep life as normal as I can for my daughters is exhausting. I had forgotten next week was Thanksgiving. He has to be at St Jude all Thursday and Friday anyway.

Have had several people suggest we contact an attorney about the mis-diagnosis in Illinois. I don't even know if that's worth pursuing, much less when we'd find time to speak to someone.

Anyhow, ya'll might just have to deal with my giving updates every other week or so, as a therapeutic escape to get my thoughts out.

Oh, and share the GoFund me link if you can

Wow, that's a tough situation. A friend of mine just went through something like this with his four year old daughter. She woke up screaming one night and couldn't move her legs, turns out she had a massive tumor in her spine. After treatment, she is incomplete remission. I prayed for her and her family every day and will do the same for yours. God bless you and God bless St. Jude's.
My first son will be 1 next week, this kind of thing really hits home hard now.
