From the article written by Schlabach, it doesn't seem accurate. Meggs finds this woman to be "very credible" that she was punched several times in the face and has a split lip and sore nose, and that the attackers were saying "we're football players, google us, we can buy you in two years." If this was so credible, and occurred before the Johnson incident, why is Meggs just now filing charges and requesting an arrest warrant? So, all that is credible and it takes 17 days to finally get an arrest warrant? And an altercation between 5-7 men and 2 women, with the men supposedly being football players does not get leaked or reported by media for 17 days?
Something doesn't add up and I'll reserve judgement.
If it went down like the story says, I don't have any problem with dismissing him, doesn't seem to be anything like the DJ situation.
The story itself just doesn't sound very plausible, at least as I understand it based on the facts present.
A friend/acquaintance of Dalvin's asks for a girl's number, she declines, a heated argument ensues and then DC punches her several times in the face? That doesn't sound like something anyone would do, unless there were some Ns thrown around or something.
And he punches her several times in the face and she has just a split lip and sore nose? I have trouble believing DC could punch anyone that many times and them only come away with a split lip and sore nose.
I just have trouble even visualizing the incident going down like that.
17 days is not that long. Especially considering the victim was drunk, so the ASA and police need to track down and interview witnesses. Heck, they might have tried to speak with Dalvin. You got to get your ducks in order, because if they are not, you won't get past the probable cause hearing which happens quickly after the accused is arrested.
I guess Florida is different that Georgia, because up here, 17 days is a long time for an arrest warrant to be issued.
In this circumstance, don't think it's too long. If I read the report correctly, she didn't identify Dalvin at the scene--but said she could. So they were probably looking for credible corroborating witnesses.
We may just have a differing of opinion then, because the way I read it was Cook was id'ed that night.
She went in for a photo lineup on July 1st.
The woman said she identified Cook as the man who struck her in a photo lineup with two Tallahassee Police Department investigators on July 1.
espn says she id'd him from a photo line up.
that said, no video, he stays on the team.
Hope you are correctespn says she id'd him from a photo line up.
that said, no video, he stays on the team.
Sorry, some of these guys are idiots, plain and simple.
As someone who has done nightclub security once, you gotta go when they're open, and then he probably hung out at the bar afterwards... Makes sense to me.The affidavit definitely leaves much to be desired. Maybe I've become cynical, but my intuition says that both sides of the situation are leaving more than a few details out of the story. And I sure hope Dalvin didn't do it - primarily because of the battery allegation, but also because there are 2-3 witnesses "supporting" his side of the story who will be made out to be less than truthful with their statements.
And who goes looking for a security job at 2:30 a.m.? A Harvard grad and UF Med student? Weird.
My five year old twins have more sense than some of these players.Sorry, some of these guys are idiots, plain and simple.
Need to let the facts play out, but at the very least, Jimbo should place an immediate moratorium on Tallahassee nightlfe.
