Dark Knight Rises is a POS when it comes to the plot and dialogue. Based on writing, it's a 2/10. Only some decent acting performances keep it around a mediocre movie for me as the FX and action sequences are pretty blah by today's standards, certainly well behind the fight scenes of made for Netflix Daredevil.
Let's see. The main "hidden" villainess hates Batman SOOOOOO much, that she decides to set up some ridiculously convoluted plot where he will be tossed into a nonsensical prison that no one got out of...you know except for her so she knows it can be gotten out of...and then "tortures" him by making him watch "his" city get destroyed over a multiple month process wherein no national military involvement is ever called in. (Seriously, Ponch and his buddies would have waxed Bane and his nonpowered body by day two). Then Batman "recovers" from his multiple broken back injuries to magically get back just in time to kick everyone's %*%. Then maybe sacrifices himself in the dumbest possible ending OR quite being batman without telling even Alfred so he can bone Catwoman in France while he lets "his city" be protected by a "Robin" with no training or resources.
Just an absolutely nonsensical plot.
Plus I left out a ton of other plot holes and/or just stupid things in the plot like how "Robin" magically knows Bruce Wayne is Batman; that the SEC would just simply reverse the fraudulent trades as they do anytime it occurs (don't think this hasn't happened in real life just from the confines of the "innertubes"); that the cops survived underground in the sewers for five months without food and clean water until they were let out clean shaven and in uniform for the stupidest frontal attack charge since Gettysburg; that the SEC attack occurs during the day when it would be open but Batman chases them at night despite maybe ten minutes elapsing tops; that they give Batman a cyber leg which he never bothers to use despite them making a big deal of it; how did Batman get back from his Arabian hellhole in about an hour?; what sense does it make to turn Gotham into five months of anarchy when you're just planning to blow it up anyways, is that supposed to torture Batman?......etc...
The plot holes and just plain stupid plot points makes it almost unwatchable. It's only on the strength of its cast that it rises to mediocrity.
