FSU wants to make SEC money and is an essential college football brand
ESPN owns the rights to the ACC and wants to stick it to the conference for not “playing ball”
The SEC/ESPN want to capture all of the major college brands while expanding nationally
The Big Ten is the only other major player and is using the alliance to keep the SEC in check
Since ESPN owns the ACC rights, they should in theory be able to have the inside track to both terminating the ACC contract AND poaching FSU (if for no other reason than weakening the ACC; and thus the BIG 10 Alliance). So how would that be possible? What are the scenarios where FSU gets into one of the BIG 2 conferences and when? I’m curious if anyone has an inside scoop here.
