Has anyone seen this recently? It's coming to the theatre here in Pensacola and I've always loved the music of Floyd, but I'm wondering if it's really something that's still exciting today. Laser light shows were all the rage in the 80's, but I haven't seen one in years. Are these still interesting enough to sit through without a live band? It's essentially just a laser show set to the music of Floyd.

I’m guessing 99% of the audience will be on heavy doses of mind altering intoxicants.

I haven't seen this show but if you want to catch a great recreation of the music go see Black Jacket Symphony when they are in your area. They also play Mobile fwiw. And they recreate quite a few other classic albums from the day. Excellent musical experience!!

Really?!? I've recently went to the Black Jacket Symphony Pink Floyd's The Wall & Fleetwood Mac's Rumours (quite honestly, I was blown away with this one) at the Saenger Theater..........I'd highly recommend attending these. This Saturday they are doing Tom Petty's Damn The Torpedoes at the Pensacola Saenger Theater......I so wish I could go, but I'm strapped.

Edit: A buddy of mine caught the Pink Floyd Laser Light show years ago and he said it was pretty much empty, so he laid down in the aisle and watched the show like that. He said he had eaten 2 mushrooms, a microdot, & 2 rolls......I laugh at that today, no way could I handle all of that.

Yeah, I've wanted to see see Black Jacket Symphony. I will finally make it at some point. I'm just not certain lasers and a cd playing Pink Floyd is worth it if I don't plan on the mind altering drugs to go along with it. Maybe my birthday experience will be seeing Jim Gaffigan instead.

Even my buddy, who was on nothing but smoke, said the Black Jacket Symphony Pink Floyd's The Wall was better than the Pink Floyd laser light show.

If you like Pink Floyd, go see the White Tie Rock Ensemble Feb 23rd at the Saenger. They're doing Dark Side of the Moon, along with other Pink Floyd hits.
I haven't seen Black Jacket, but people have told me WTRE is better. They are superb musically and usually have a great light show.

I've never seen WTRE, but I have friends that have seen both and prefer BJS (though I'm not sure if they saw the same shows from both)......all I know is that I thought there was no way BJS could find someone that could match Stevie Nicks, but they sure as hell did.

I bet the first places they started to look were thrift stores and taco bells.
