Run by CFP (a limited liability corporation). ACC's Jim Phillips says it's time to look at alternative football models.
"I think it’s time for us to look at alternative models for football” including possibility of having CFP run football rather than NCAA."
The ESPN-ACC contract can be voided if no longer part of NCAA.
ESPN and FOX (via the SEC and B1G) are calling the shots and Jim sees the writing on the wall...
Phillips on collective bargaining: "We all have a responsibility to move in the direction we see college athletics going. Some people call pay-for-play what we're doing right now. The experience is tethered in education and degree completion and academics…What the benefits are is what we're struggling with -- to find some common ground about what we feel would be appropriate and what would put us in a different category than collegiate sports."
