Six under for the day, one back of the lead, holing out from off the green. The big cat is back!

settle down now, its only Thursday. He still has the rest of the tournament for his standard melt-down.

Its much more entertaining to watch him melt-down when he is in contention. Hope he makes the cut and then proceeds to implode on the weekend.

Had drinks with a Top 5 golfer's caddie the other day and he said Tiger would win another Major Championship. I told him I know nothing about golf, but I had a message board I wanted him to visit.

Did he say this before or after the drinks?

I honestly thought this was going to be about him hanging out at the hotel lobby bar for Happy Hour.

Before, but he was distracted.......buying drink for every cute girl at the bar. Maybe he was just having a pon farr moment. He's a good looking guy and having a very good year.

I think Tiger has some good rounds left in him but I personally doubt he can keep his game together for four days under major pressure against the likes of Spieth, McIlroy and Day. I mean he's done nothing that leads you to believe he's capable of that...

Let's tap the brakes a bit. First, Tiger had a good round yesterday, but he's still only tied for 7th. Also, Greensboro is one of the easiest courses on tour (as confirmed by yesterday's scores), and the field is not exactly stacked with elite players. So I am not sure yesterday's flash is all-that-momentous. Let's see what happens today and Saturday.

Watching Day having to break a scoring record to beat Spieth is yet another sign of the level of golf that is being played at this time. Several of them have youth, all the tools and most importantly the mental game of all the past greats. Golf is in a very good place at this time, Tiger isn't.

You guys misunderstood. What c-man meant is that Tiger is trolling the bar at the Wydham hotel looking for fresh meat.

That's what I would think.

RTM had drinks with Spieth's caddie

Seems like a cool dude but I wonder what in the world makes him think Tiger's going to win another major though? IMO, the only majors Tiger has a chance of winning if ever so slightly are the Masters or the PGA if it's on a track where the premium is not on driving accuracy...

Is that what you told the dude? If so, what did he say? Today and the next three days will be very interesting...

I did say I thought, as a non golfer, he was done. He, the caddie, seem to think Tiger is in funk but would be able to focus long enough the get another major. It was JR's caddie. There was another caddie, but don't know who he worked for...

He was bit of a savant. He was rattling off courses and fairways from around the world. I've had drinks with him and his buddies a few times but didn't know much about his background other than he and they were pro caddies.

Another good round so far for Tiger today and tied for the lead. I'm happy to see it and rooting for him to win, but remain skeptical until he can have a good Saturday round.

Wow, he's got a piece of the lead. Going to be a very interesting weekend indeed...

Well, highly viewed at least. CBS is going to love their weekend ratings.

I know you hate Tiger, but ratings, ticket sales and overall revenue is down in the PGA. They need a shot in the arm. Tiger is the only game they have and need to milk it for as long as they can. After he is gone, I don't know if they can recreate the 2000s without another dominating figure.

Interesting fact ... Tiger needs to place 2nd or better this weekend to qualify for the FedEx cup.

No denying any of that. And while Tiger and Phil flame out the new breed are stoking the embers and those two will be but a memory of what used to be like Jack and Arnie are now and golf will be ok...

The new guys are not stoking much. We have a young handsome kid that has won two majors and almost a third and it didn't push the needle in ratings or ticket sales. Tiger and FIGJAM are cocky and have a flair that sell tickets. Need another one to pop up. None are out there right now.

If the networks and "journalists" would focus on the likes of Spieth, Day, et. al., golf would be soaring. But they want their yellow journalism stories of adultery and insider trading, so the ratings are of their own making.

You think the media hasn't hyped Speith? I don't buy that at all.

Better round yesterday than expected. There's is still a chance. And yesterday was the first look I got of that course. It's a pitch and putt with no rough. No wonder why so many players are shooting such low rounds.

Tiger brought in casual fans who have moved on to other things. The new guys' age group - Millennials - don't give two s***s about golf.

The real Tiger will show his stripes today.
Is he crouched and ready to kill, or will his fans once again be dismayed?
For the answer to this and other burning mysteries stay to tuned LR/XM.

No need to use driver. Ergo, Tiger is doing well.

Now that he's out of it he's starting to favor the back. Lol...
