Tiger on the prowl at the Wyndham

At 3:30 CDT, Koepka and Blixt are -14, 2 behind the leader. Very impressive

He actually bounced back decently after that pathetic triple. Still, no playoffs for Tiger. We'll see if this decent showing gives him some momentum going into whatever tourneys he plays in over the next few months.

You know all the Tiger apologist will use Love's win as a reason to not give up on him regaining his form. "If a scrum like DLIII can win at 51 years old you know Tiger will catch and pass Jack's majors record!"

Why apologist? Tiger is the greatest golfer of this generation. Everybody eventually loses their swing due to age or injury. It's part of the game. Doesn't mean I don't want to see a spark of what made him so great.

Somebody one day will have to explain to me why people hate on winners. All of the great champions have a contingent that just revel in their downfall.

I doubt we'll see much of him the remainder of the year.
The PGA tour season starts in October or November. He'll also probably play overseas once or twice. Best thing he can do is keep playing.

Can't say for all winners but I hate tiger because he was showy and arrogant when winning. When he didn't play well, he whined and threw fits on the golf course. Not to mention he is a morally corrupt man who bangs hookers when he had a beautiful family and his choice of mistresses if he wanted them. Something seriously f***ed up in that dudes head.

Don't "hate on winners." Hate low-lives who cheat on their wives (with waitresses in church parking lots, among others), cheat using steroids, and generally treat people like crap. Tiger is not a nice or likable human being.

The Englishman has some splainin' to do....Tigers got a new restaurant to focus on, so not a total loss.

Oh god you could prob say nearly all the same things if not worse about so many heroic characters in American history (sports and otherwise).

Tiger shot what, 13 under on that pitch and putt while Day shot twenty under at the PGA and Spieth was 19 or 18. There is a gulf between where Tiger's at and where the elite players are at. He's not getting it back, forget about it...

"The Guy" said the PGA was real "soft" which is good for the golfers, I think. He said when it's like that it's like shooting fish in a barrel for the pros. He also mentioned they would make the future courses faster to make up for that 20 over.

I'm convinced Tiger banged your wife.

sportscenter of course shows DLIII putt a couple times. Shoots a dadgum final round 64 to become the 3rd oldest winner EVER but let's focus on Tiger

And why does Tiger have to drop his club after a bad shot?

You mean the same course where Tiger couldn't even make the cut much less shoot 20 under?

Also recall that the Greensboro tournament consisted mostly of PGA's back-markers, i.e., guys trying to make the cut for the FedEx Cup, etc. Had the field included Rory, Spieth, Day, Johnson, Phil, etc., the winning score likely would have been -25, and the 51-year old DL3 would not have carried home the hardware. Just keeping things in perspective.

The PGA has always been the 'softest' of the majors but that's not my point. And I know what you're saying but let's look at it this way. At the PGA Day shot 20, Spieth was 17, Grace 15, Rose 14 then on down from there. Not the toughest major venue but still, it was demanding. So what I'm saying is that on the Wyndham course Day, Spieth, Rory, Rose, etc, the elite would have been way better than Davis' -17 and Tiger's -13. While Tiger's playing a lot better than he was he still has a long way to go to play with the current elite...

That's funny. Grab his back too. He dang sure wasn't grabbing his back or tossing his clubs Thursday or Friday. So the question is were the bad shots a result of the back (hip) or was favoring the back (hip) a go to move for hitting a bad shot?

The ravages of the steroid abuse manifest themselves only when he is playing poorly.
