Time for a new show (Netflix recommendations?)

Sons of Anarchy is good if you haven't seen. I'm pretty sure they just added the last season as well.

I'll have to check out the Peaky Boo one and Bloodline.

Anyone have Amazon Prime? I watched the pilot for a show called "Mad Dogs". Looks like it will be a great show. I've never seen a pilot released without the rest of the season filmed. I'm hooked for sure...hopefully they are filming the rest of the season.

Below is a link

Also..."Alpha Dogs" is an original series from Amazon that is pretty damn funny too. I had never heard of it until we subscribed, I recommend it as well.

We have Prime as well as Netflix and watch the hell out of both. My gf made us start Downton Abbey (on Prime) recently... and it's actually pretty good. I had such a preconceived notion about it that it would be a total chick show or some crap, but it's a good time-period show. It's pretty interesting learning about the inner workings of how estates were run back then. This is not man-card withdrawal worthy, I swear.

Prime has TONS of other great shows that we've added to our list. Looking forward to starting Orphan Black on there.

We did Orphan Black last month....I really liked the first season. We never made it through season 2..seem to trail off to much...then again, we had a baby in between 1 and 2.

I don't know how any guys out here could find a reason they didn't like it. Hands down, the best. I rank it up there with the likes of classics like Forrest Gump, dances with Wolves, godfather, etc. Its an epic, legendary story and the producers went deep on the keeping it as historically accurate as possible minus the language. I recently told a good friend about it, the show is 4 seasons long and less than 10 days later he was already rewatching from the beginning. Do yourself a favor, all of those who have never seen it and embark on the journey. FYI, lots and lots of hotties amidst the fighting, and one of the best story lines ever filled with surprises and twists. I could go on for days.

I'm with ya.. I really enjoyed that series the first time and I re-watched it when I had downtime on my latest travels. The backstabbing in that show is unreal. Of course, lots of neked women makes it fun too but the fighting is pretty intense as well.

I really enjoyed The Killing as well. Marco Polo was decent. I'm still watching Borgia on occasion as well (I jut visited Rome and they tie in a lot of the sites really well).

Tudors was decent but haven't finished it.

As mentioned already, Peaky Blinders is worth watching. Good show with a great soundtrack. Lots of very cool, slow motion, gangsters-strutting-down-the-streets type scenes during Nick Cave songs. Kinda like the opening of Reservoir Dogs.

Daredevil comes out today. Obviously haven't seen it yet, but I read great things. I'm not much of a comic book fan, but this seems to be more like the Dark Knight trilogy than the other comic book stuff.

I really enjoyed "Hell on Wheels". Western set back in the days when railroads expanding out west. Originally on AMC

Didn't even know it existed. Naked women and backstabbing...sounds like Game of Thrones. I'm in!

I've watched 4 episodes of Bloodline now...it's okay. I like where it's set and the feel of the characters, but it needs to pick up. I'll give it one or two more episodes to see if it goes somewhere. I also like that the hot attorney daughter went to FSU law school..they were making sure the viewer was aware of this...I'm sure there is a writer or producer with FSU ties in there somewhere.

And this is one of those shows where they drink like it's water, it's always an acceptable time to have a scotch or beer. It's hard for me to stomach that for some reason, just makes me nauseous watching at some points. Maybe if they laid off the booze they wouldn't be so damn irritable all the time.

This. I mentioned it earlier in the post before it came out, and now I'm six episodes through. I'm shocked that nobody has started a thread on this.
