I have been fatigued lately (even in the middle of the day), sore (all over as if my body is fighting an infection) and the last couple of nights have had night sweats. Also a cough, but I don't believe I have a cold (it is just an annoying caugh). So, what say the LR.

For the record, I'll be making an appointment with my doctor tomorrow, but I figured I hear some thoughts first.

Sounds like lymphoma (I'm not a real doctor, however).

Or, just a virus (I'm still not a real doctor).

RIP.

If you die before Saturday, can I have your game tix?

Those are pretty vague symptoms. You'll need to be asked more questions and likely have some blood drawn. Maybe a prostate exam will help. But hey, what do I know. I'm not a real doctor AND I went to community college.

I read it the same way....extremely vague symptoms that require more questions and labs. Could be a huge array of things. Not a Dr or even a nurse practitioner. Just a nurse (OB one at that)

That is why I said I would see my doc. She is pretty thorough. It's just odd. When I say fatigue, I mean come home at lunch and take a nap. Headaches in the morning are not uncommon the last couple weeks either. I assume blood work and other tests will be part of it.

definitely get blood work. That might not answer every question right away. Get ready to get poked and prodded. In 2011 I was feeling very tired and out of breath all the time. Blood came back very anemic and after a couple of tests they found the colon cancer, but it took two days in the hospital after the blood test to find that out. which is the point I'm trying to get across. Be ready to get violated from the moment you arrive in office.

Also, since they take blood and might not process it for a while, definitely listen for a call from the office. In my case it was "you need to go to the ED." I didn't listen to the message and instead went to the FSU/UM game. Didn't hear the message until the following Monday. DOH.

Well I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express last night & can say without a doubt that you need to take two aspirins, drink plenty of water, & get lots of rest.

This happens all the time. In retrospect, a 2 day delay is not a matter of life or death with colon cancer. And your anemia couldn't have been that bad since you made it to the game. Then again, you are a male, and male patients are the worst! :p Based on the 3 symptoms he presented to us, he could have nothing to cancer or anything in between.

No such thing as "JUST" a nurse!
LOL I was trying to be tongue in cheek
I think I failed, I teach clinicals too and have my MSN in nursing education. I went from delivering babies on Wednesday to being at the nursing home today.

It means nothing, but those similar to my friend's symptoms before she was diagnosed with lupus....or you are starting your period.

Sounds like you may be taking a prescription drug, like any of the ones I see advertised on tv.

That or guanira.

So, I did see the doc today and ordered a number of tests. Blood work, urine test, flu swab(she really didn't think it was flu). She hopes to give me a call next week and follow up.

Hope is all you have to be around another week? I am so very sorry.

Isn't it funny how the beginning of life and the end are so similar? You have someone else feed you, dress you, and bathe you. You don't really understand what's going on around you and you drool a lot.
