how much is the regular haircut cost? My barbershop has raised the price to $16 so the tip has dropped from $5 to $4.

Dude this is the LR. Assumed responses will be "$100 haircut, $200 tip, then I flew the barber to my private island for 3 weeks vacation with his 5 kids because I own a jet and it was a tax write off because I make 63.2mil a year"

In didn't peg you as a metro sexual, I'm kind of shocked.

$5

Is metrosexual still a thing?

I've got nice lettuce and it's worth the cash to keep it nice. That Supercuts/Sport Clips game is for the birds.

I have, arguably, the best hair in the LR, and I wouldn't pay $45 for a haircut. That's absurd.

It's what a good haircut costs. I'm not going to apologize for spending a few bucks to make sure I don't look like a schmuck.

You can tell a Sport Clips guy from a good haircut guy. It matters, like good shoes and a nice watch.

This surprises me as well..

And to answer the question, my wife cuts my hair and I give her the whole thing, not just the tip.

I cut my own hair...

This IS the LR. I have a barber on my staff and you don't tip your hired help.

I pay $40 and tip $10. I thought I was going to be alone in the LR.

Just like tailoring clothes, people notice, and more importantly, you yourself notice.

you can surely tell the difference in quality of a cut, but price doesnt always follow. I would stack my $20-$25 haircut (non-sport clips) against your $45 and no one would be the wiser. I dont pay for all the shamp, treatment, etc. if you truly have good "lettuce," it takes less work (to look good). Been going to the same person for a few years now, and my only regret was the brad pitt (from fury) cut i was talked into once. wife and most others loved it, but i felt a little tool-ish. the cut has since been played out by everyone, even more than it was at the time i had it. went back to, and stayed with, the OG ever since.

btw, i used to pay around $45 before, until i received a cut from the person i currently go to now. needed a cut in a pinch and was referred over. i would also never be spotted in a sport clips, knockouts, etc. feel they charge too much for the quality they provide.

oh, and i tip $10.

I've got killer lettuce, and I enjoy the shampoo, head/neck massage, and post-cut rinse. I have no problem paying for it.

I get a haircut every six weeks. Let's call that 9 times a year. $405 a year, $80 in regular tips, and $50 for a Christmas tip comes out to a grand total of $535 American dollars. Not a ridiculous amount of money to make sure I look my best.

so you are simply getting the equivalent of a $25 haircut, but paying for things you can get done at your house. not too unreasonable, but lets not act like the extra $20 makes the cut a better quality (the person with the scissors determines that).

every six weeks? i look homeless in 4, no way I could go that long. if you can get away with it, thats a pretty significant savings.

Every six weeks? You must have long lettuce where your neck is not exposed.

And when did hair become known as "lettuce"...that's new for me too.

Also, I agree that the sports clip cut is for the dude that uses a guard on 75% of his lettuce. The girls there are all straight out of beautician school as well....even if you are a simple cut, you are taking a risk by going there.

If you want a decent cut you need to go where the more experienced girls are working, which means a more expensive lettuce cut....which in my mind is about $20 to $25. Anything over that and it's a diminishing return. The girl worth over $25 a cut should be working on ladies lettuce exclusively.

Your from Atlanta right....do you go to Van Michael s?? I will say that they have no problems getting you drunk while you're there if you want....could make it worth $45 then.

A $45 hair cut....all I can picture is Zohan cutting your hair.

Supercuts, etc. all go nuts with the clippers and cut everyone's hair the same. I quit those places years ago. However, I'm much too cheap to spend $50 on a haircut. My hair's easy to manage so I learned how to cut it myself. I trim it up every couple weeks and nobody is the wiser. Never looks like I've just gotten a haircut. Have probably saved thousands over the years.
