8-5. That is all.

I never saw a lot of actual analysis why he wouldn't make it. It was almost always about the media created villain instead of the actual person.

Looking forward to the 30 for 30 when Winston is 40 years old that will finally present an objective view of what happen to him.

Chucky Gruden said he was the smartest qb he's ever had on his board.

Jamarcus' size and huge arm and "potential", got him drafted one. Jamies actually has a work ethic and all the tangebiles needed to be a number one pick. I don't think many, if any, on the TC thought he wouldn't make it. Many thought he would benefit from another year of college, more of an off the field maturation process, than much more on-field improvement. At least both were Fisher coached QB's.

JaMarcus Russell says hi.

There were some writers that thought he wouldn't make it. For off the field issues or whatever reason.
Scout #1
"Lack of focus by JaMarcus is what I see in Winston," one of the personnel men said. "They're physically talented, but during the course of a game they kind of lose their focus and just put the ball up for grabs.

"I see the body. I see the lack of focus. I see the same coach and system. Only Winston's not as good an athlete and his arm isn't as strong as JaMarcus'."

Scout #2
"We're looking at another guy (Winston) that's a product of the system and has tremendous athletes around him," the other personnel man said.

"Is this guy really going to be the first pick of the draft? You'd be drafting a quarterback that can't run, has off-field problems, has no power in his legs and makes bad decisions on the field. Somebody's going to make a horrible mistake."

Scout #3
"Someone will take him in the first round, but how could you even let that guy in the building?" a scout told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "The second law of thermodynamics basically is the more ways something can happen, the more likely it is to happen. That's true of players. The more ways they can (expletive) up, the more chances they (expletive) up. This guy's got a lot of stuff that would lean him more likely to be a bust than a good player."

What do all three of these geniuses have in common? Not one of them was man enough to attach a name to the quotes.

There were a lot of people criticizing him. I'm not a Bucs fan, but I love the way the team is playing. I work with a bunch of idiots that were convinced he would be a bust and they're not UF fans do we cannot use that reasoning

And all three of these cowards should be without a job right now.

Do you have the link to that article that quoted the anonymous scouts? I'd like to reach out to the author on Twitter.

I still love the every other week comparisons between Mariota and Jameis. The media is still trying to dis Jameis... By the way, although he won today, Mariota threw for 88 yards...

These scouts are now demoted to equipment guys. He has one of the highest ceilings of a QB coming out of college that I've ever seen. He will be one of the best QBs to ever play the game when it is all said and done. You don't/didn't have to be a "professional" to see that.

I don't remember Gruden being complimentary at all.

I was actually really shocked by this - I expected Gruden to be fired up by Winston's knowledge, leadership, and passion for winning. But he was totally meh and I think he said something about passing on him in favor of Mariota.I could be wrong on that last one though.

And that's prob why Gruden will forever be with FFCA. LOL, I love what he's doing now, the behind the scenes look and film room work. Personally, I think he's too far gone to ever get back into coaching. He seems like he's having a great time anyway Monday nights. I can't remember the interview with Winston and really don't care. All that matters is the now.

No, you are right. Please click on these links:

Your thoughts mirror my thoughts and I was sure that Gruden would love Jameis but he was a Mariota guy.

It was Steve Mariucci who thought Jameis was a genius on the white board, not Gruden.

Oh well......JBoo has proved a lot of dissenters wrong.

I am sure that all of them are grads of UF's College of Journalism. Winston is what they all hoped Tebow would become.
