Top three albums

Supertramp- Crime of the Century
Rush- 2112
Garth Brooks- No Fences

Supertramp is a good one... certainly wore those grooves out
here's a few more that were played a lot
Bob Marley - Exodus
Carole King - Tapestry
Annie Lennox - Medusa

John Cougar - Nothin Matters and what if it did
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Street Survivors
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium

And I totally forgot about Frank Zappa's Joe's Garage. That is truly best listened to on an album because the inside of the cover not only has the words to all the songs, but it also explains the story about how music destroyed Joe's life. Songs include Catholic Girls, Wet T-Shirt Night, Crew Slut, and Why does it hurt when I pee? That is a great album to just sit back, listen to some great music, and follow the storyline. Doesn't hurt to have an altered mind while you're listening.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Pronounced
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Pearl Jam - Ten

Violent Femmes - Self-titled
Bad Religion - Recipe for Hate
Clutch - The Elephant Riders (hey, it's where my username comes from)

A little more grist for the mill...
Tea For the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Self titited by Keb Mo
Leaving Eden by the Carolina Chocolate Dropsn

its hard for a diverse audiophile like myself to boil down to 3.... it would be interesting to expand to at least 10.... but the albums that really hooked me...and made realize that music was mankind's greatest art form..... and coupled with teen age recreational drug use could allow the listener to transcend into less restrained pattern of thought were....

low life.....new order
paul's boutique.... beastie boys
electric cafe..... kraftwerk

lol at all the Sgt. Peppers listed.... not even top three for the Beatles.

1. Abbey Road
2. White Album
3.Rubber Soul
4. Revolver
5. tie: Peppers/MMT/Let it Be

In a Silent Way- Miles Davis
Axis: Bold as Love- Hendrix
Santana III (Man with outreached hand) - Santana

Wouldn't call these "Top-3" in the vein of greatest or most important records of all-time, but rather three that always bring me back for additional listens:

VU - Loaded
Wilco - YHF
The Walkmen - You & Me
