We are not doing Disney (except Thursday where I can get either a 2p or a 5p tix at a discounted rate for the kids and myself to Epcot...the wife's afternoon entry is paid for by her company). I can't justify the costs nor do I have that kind of bankroll. I had no idea how expensive Disney was until I started looking into everything. My Lawd!! Is everything in Orlando priced like Disney's pricing? Restaurants too? Other parks?

Would appreciate some input on other things to do in the area. The kids love coasters and we'll probably hit Busch Gardens one day. We are staying at a Disney property if that matters.

Thanks in advance!

Busch Gardens isn't significantly cheaper than Disney, especially when you factor the time and expense of driving to Tampa. If you're looking for lower cost things to do, Central Florida has a ton of state parks where you can go canoeing, etc. Blue Springs has an awesome little restaurant where you make your own pancakes (reservations in advance). There's always the beach.

If you’re going to Busch Gardens for roller coasters you might as well just go to islands of adventure. Coasters are comparable and it’s right there at I drive. Maggianos is a great Italian place to be a tourist spot...

Maybe get away from the synthetic stuff and take a day trip to the Space Center. Like OrlandNole said there are some excellent state parks the pancake place at Blue Springs is very cool.

I know I'm not from Florida and I may get bashed for it, but we really like going to Gatorland. It's cheaper and it's cool to see all those alligators.
They’ve actually made that place pretty cool. Zip lining over all pits is pretty cool

Are you a Florida resident? Disney World has a special FL resident ticket special going on right now:

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/special-offers/resident-discover/

For a limited time, enjoy 3 days at a Walt Disney World theme park for $159 per person, plus tax with a Florida Resident Discover Disney Ticket—and add a 4th day for just $20 more per person, plus tax.

Couple years ago we had an afternoon to kill before we could check into our place we were staying for a Disney trip so we ended up on I Drive. It isn't Universal or Busch Gardens obviously...but it was $40 and there were literally like 30 people in the whole place (would assume it is busy during the peak tourist season but will probably be mostly empty for you). If you have smaller kids, my son had a blast. 3 smaller roller coasters....though the wood one is pretty cool. Lots of rides you would find at the fair...but also had two awesome go cart tracks with multiple levels (like racing in a parking garage).

Had such a blast with the go carts that when we went back this year with some adults for Wine and Food Festival at Epcot we went to Funspot and gangstered up the gocarts for a couple hours (employees basically let us almost kill each other in them, lol)
