Tripping to St Pete for Rays vs Sox

Staying on 3rd near the trop restaurant recs bars etc?

Really All. Downtown St Pete has probably the best collection of restaurants in the greater Tampa Bay Area so it depends on what you're in the mood for. If you want reasonably priced semi-foodie food that's not too crazy (aka baby foodie food for nubes) I really like Parkshore Grill. That's where I had my wedding rehearsal meal because it's good food, not that expensive and not that "out there" where it weirds out the normies.

thanks tribe i was thinking more casual but good food time frame is an issue friday and sunday . after the 4:00game on Sat leaves some room for fun

I asked my BIL who is an excellent and dedicated (new keg practically every week) craft brewer that lives in downtown St Pete where to find the best combo of cheap but quality food and alcohol and he texted me this

"The Flying Pig tap house on Central (beer only). Don’t get food there, go to Bodega which is down the street or to Urban Brew and Barbecue (if you can get a table). If you need beer, liquor, food, and sports TV’s all in one place then Engine 9 is pretty good."

You should consider going to the outdoor market Saturday for lunch, there are typically a bunch of food vendors that have some great grub.

$5 Drinkery - Downtown St. Pete - as crazy as it sounds - the Mac N Cheese Melt Sandwich is very, very tasty -$4.99 - love that place.

Downtown St Pete, and the area west toward and past the stadium, is a goldmine of restaurants and bars. Bodega, as was mentioned, is very good. I frequently drive across the bridge to Casita Taqueria at 26th and Central. There is also an 80 plus year old chili burger place that closes early each day so I don't go there as often as I like.
