Who is ready for tonights show? I absolutely loved season one, imo one of the best series ever on HBO. Season 2 was meh in comparison but still ok

Early reviews for season 3 have been good. Season 2 was pretty crappy compared to the first season.

Early reviews do put it between Seasons 1 and 2. Enough for me to check out tonight's two episodes.

Season one was unbelievable...one of the all timers imo. Woody and Mac were as good as it gets.

Season 2 had so much potential but never seemed to go anywhere.

Season 3 looks excellent, can’t wait.

I may have to reactivate HBO for this show. Mahershala Ali is awesome.

Watched the first 2 episodes last night. I’ve got to say that I am hooked. Looks like the story was intricately mapped out this time. Excited to see where it goes.

Watched just the 1st episode last night....season 2 failed for me because it just seems so convoluted. Season 3 kinda started that way for me in episode 1 but seemed to lose that towards the end of the episode. I even got my wife to watch and she's gonna watch which isn't normally the case for these types of shows.

Just wait a few months for when GOT comes back.
Ah man I just finished got a month ago. Hear do much about it so I finally watched it on demand. They had the one free episode. Pissed me off so I had to add HBO through Hulu. It's awesome no doubt. Love love the dragon queen

Woody and Mac will be damn near impossible to live up to . Probably macs best role all time imo

Amazed At Season One,Terribly disappointed in season two. Excited for the new story. Unfamiliar with the Actors Though. But if things Hearken back to the first season I'm good

Season 3 reminds me a of the first season. Same funky southern gothic yellow king vibe, with a little bit of Stranger Things in there. The cast is excellent, which is what set season one and two apart so much. I loathed everything about season two.

As stated above, Season One will be very hard for anything to top. Simply perfect. The 11 minute, one take - one camera, shot in the projects is epic.

Watched the first two episodes last night. I have to say that these first two episodes are better than anything that was in season 2.

I have to say that I was surprised by the twist that the girl is still alive. Will be curious to see how that all ties in to the second timeline. Also wondering how the third timeline with him talking to the reporter will tie into everything.

Boy episode 3 left the show in a weird place. I think that it is obvious that purple hayes has some demons in his closet related to his family. What exactly they are is probably as much of the story as is what happened to the missing sister.

Still shot from Ep 5 teaser. Look closely.

Haven’t watched the latest episode. Really enjoying season three though. Just waiting for Game of Thrones…

Not a big, cliff hanging ending, kinda low key, which is what this series has been about, not overly bombastic. This was not about the crime as much as how it affected those touched by it. Good acting by most, although we had to put the closed caption on for Ali's mumbling. I thought Stephen Dorff was outstanding. A well conceived plot, challenging but not to the point of having to use a study guide.

What is your guys theory on...

1. Was he faking the dementia when he found Julie

2. The jungle seen? Just the last of his lucidity and recon days are over. So, now it's the end of Purple's mind.

1. I think at the very last moments there (when he took the drink of water), he regained his memory and realized who she was and why he was there. But before that, I doubt he was faking.

2. That's a good theory and would make me appreciate that scene a lot more. I read a theory that he died in Vietnam and the Purcell case never happened. I don't buy it for a second but just an example of a crazy theory from this season (another being that his wife was the one who murdered the boy).

he died in Vietnam and the Purcell case never happened.

Heck of an imagination to die in the 70's and predict cell phones and such.

The scene when the daughter finally showed up and Purple's face, were awesome.

You think the son continues to follow the address on the paper. Friend said it would have been cool, if the son put the paper in a drawer with other identical papers.

1. I thought he had forgotten and was lost. The actor did a great job of expressing a though entering his mind while drinking the water. We can assume he remembered at that point where he was and simply decided to leave her live in peace.

2. The jungle scene was interesting. I gathered as he was resurrecting some old and lost relationships in his elder years, as he did at the bar with his wife as a younger man, the parts and memories of his life that created so much grief and pain were getting closure and fading into the environment, jungle. A very uplifting ending to what could have easily ended up a tragedy.

A friend has the premise that the end scene showed what he'd always been. A solitary hunter. Everything that he found, he found alone. The boy, the girl, the clues, etc... That was him, as he saw himself, and at his core.

Dorff was simply outstanding, and that's probably the best thing that he's ever done.
