I went to Ukraine for 7 weeks in 2011. Kiev and Dnipro. It was February and March. Cold. I still keep in touch with my tour guide and another guy from there that owned an internet cafe I frequented.

Very sad. But war is an ugly game. Volunteering to put yourself in that situation carries with it some very serious risks. Godspeed to everyone who does such things.
