UGGGH Rivals why do I need a VPN to get my FSU fix?

So Rivals has begun blocking me because I’m not coming from an IP address within the US.

Turns out the entire European Union is being blocked by Rivals because of the new EU law (GDPR) that goes live on May 25th.

Interesting. Looks like no warchanting while traveling abroad. I will be forced to focus on enjoying the beaches and talent of southern Spain.

Who owns rivals now? Yahoo, which is owned by something called "Oath", which appears to be a Verizon company. When you name your company "Oath" you're basically admitting you're up for something shady. It's what Shaggy would name his company after his wife catches him doing it on the bathroom floor.

Crazy to watch formerly great American companies like Yahoo and AOL basically turn into the Kmart and Sears of the Internet era.

That GDPR law sucks. We're battling that right now with our company which does a ton of business in Europe. The amount of overhead and reporting required is almost impossible for a small company, and the fines would put us out of business.
