What's up, guys?
We're back for another post-practice update. Today we'll be getting Mike Norvell and select offensive players.
So, hang tight and get ready to be amazed with my transcribing skills.
Should be starting around 11:15 to 11:30.

-----------------------------------------------------------

"It was a good practice today. Thought our guys came out and had a really nice energy." Said the guys had good bounce in their step, got some good on good work. "Excited about the steps we're taking." Said it was good to get some guys back out to practice who hadn't been out there.

On Toafili: "One of the things I've been most pleased is with the investment he makes ..." ... Says he's done a good job of learning, developing, taking reps seriously enough to be utilized in a number of ways.

On Travis energy: "When you have those positive, explosive plays it does become contageious. Effort at that position is critical. Lack of effort can deteriorate your football team."

On Chubba: "He's coming along. He's making progress. He's getting reps." Said they gave him more work this week, starting on Sunday. "He's comfortable. He feels ready to go." Started introducing more things, including getting hit. "He's coming along well."

On Webb recruitment: "He had an unbelievable high school career. ... There was a bit of detour to junior college." Says they had another RB that was committed to Memphis at Jones CC as well. And that's how they noticed Webb. "I think he has some of the best balance of any back I've coached." Said he's a tough football player, and plays really hard without the football.

On defense: Says they've got to continue to push, get better. Get more consistent with pad level. ... Says the second half was a positive because of the response. "We've got to continue to establish that mindset. ... We're pushing that standard in practice and guys have to respond to that and it has to show up on game day." Says they're playing so many players because some guys haven't established themselves in a lead role. "We need to continue to grow."

D.J. Lundy: "I thought he did a great job. We put him in a couple of critical situations." Said he did well at FB. "He's very versatile. It was good to see him on the defensive side of the ball flying around. D.J. is going to be an exceptional football player." Says he has the characteristics of being a really good football player.

On running game: Says it's about mindset and demeanor. "It's something that's critical for us to get established for every game." Says he's seeing steps in the right direction. "I think our guys buy into that. And they don't really have much choice, because that's what we're going to do."

On Cooper and Jay: "We're excited about all the feedback we're getting. ... There is a really good opportunity we could have one, possibly both, here very soon."

On Dontae Lucas: "He has (responded). The challenge was last week. Dontae didn't play in the game this past week. ... I've seen some growth from him. ... His energy on the sideline. I made him dress out, because I wanted him to have that experience. ... He's started a lot of games in his career, but it can be taken away quick. ... He loves this team. He really does." Says he was a great teammate on the sideline, encouraging guys, he responded to adversity, came back to work this week and has responded well.

On defense: "It is a give and take. As we continue to develop the confidence and understanding of some of the things we are trying to take away underneath ... we're going to get better at that." Says there have been times, too, where they haven't seen the effort necessary to take away underneath things. Says there's been some communication issues, too. Said he liked the way the defense came out on Tuesday. "We've got to continue to push to the standard we want and expect." Says they are gaining in confidence and it will continue to improve.

That's a wrap for Norvell.
Ontaria Wilson is up first.

"I was supposed to be there on the route, but I was also working back to him because he was scrambling. And we work on scrambling drills."

On WR blocking: "This week we really focused on blocking through the whistle. And that's really what we practiced on." Said it carried over to the game.

On the new RBs: "We've got a lot of backs and they're competing every day in practice. So, there's no dropoff really. Because they're all competing for that starting spot."

"It was just fun to get out there and make plays and the ball in my hands. And seeing him (Terry) make a play deep, that gets me excited."

And that's a wrap for Pokey.
Lawrance Toafili is up next.

On making investment in learning offense: "I just do whatever I can to contribute to help the team win. No question."

On Terry blocking: "That's the greatest thing we can see. That's just teamwork. I appreciate it, the teamwork."

On the college game: "Everybody is smarter, bigger, faster, But it's football at the end of the day. I'm adjusting pretty well."

On film work: "It's critical. It's very important to watch and learn. Watching film of other teams, opponents ... it's just very helpful."

On Webb's TD run, block: "Every time he does something, I'm excited. That's my brother."

And that's a wrap for Toafili.
Jordan Travis is up next.

The last 72 hours and how his body feels: "The last 72 hours has been great. I'm feeling good mentally and physically. My body feels great. 100 percent."

On being starter: "I'm not changing anything. Just trying to get better every single day." Says he's trying to get stronger and mentally stronger every day.

"I found out yesterday. He just talked about it, said to go in the week with the same mindset." --- on being the starter.

"I have to learn that for sure. That's one thing that's important. We're not in high school anymore. I've got to start saving my body more." And when it's time to get down, get down.

On ND Defense: "They're a real good defense." Says they can't really focus on the Irish as much as focusing on themselves. Have to play good football.

On WR chemistry: "Pokey is my guy. But all the receivers are great." Says he has to keep working with all of them.

Says the QB chemistry is strong. They're all encouraging each other to keep going. "So, it's awesome for sure."

Travis says James Blackman is a player he's always looked up to. Because he plays with so much passion and is a leader.

"We're boys. I love him. That's my guy. So, we're out there every day trying to get each other better. ... That's all we can do at this point."

Confidence level heading into ND: "We're just focusing on ourselves." He says main goal is to get better every day. "And then who knows what can happen?"

And that's a wrap for Travis.
Robert Scott is up next.

On importance of Devontay Love-Taylor: He says he did a great job helping him throughout the game. That he was going to make sure he knew what was happening on every play.

"I didn't even know (I was starting)." He said it didn't hit him until he was at the walk through at the hotel and he went up with the first team. That's when he knew he'd likely be starting.

"I'm just doing my job." Says he played LT all of high school, and since he got here he's been playing RT. Thinks he can play both, "But right now I'm playing right, and it's going pretty good."

On his privacy during recruitment: "That's just who I am." Says he let his mom handle the recruiting process for the most part.

On dealing with Atkins: "Just now getting here, every way had their own way of learning." Says Atkins communicates differently with different guys, but that he's going to keep pushing them. So they can get 1 percent better.

"It was nerve racking, but I was excited though. ... Playing the whole game, you realize it's a lot different than high school." Says the first drive he was on the ground like every play, but that's because he was nervous, too anxious to get to the blocks. But after that, he settled down.

He says he wears goggles. But he needs new ones.
And that's it for Robert Scott.
And that's it for today. Hope you enjoyed it.
You guys are the best. As am I. We're a great team.

See you guys tomorrow. Have a blessed Tuesday. Cheer on the Braves.

Clark. Out.
